Your profile and background

  • Communication & Organizational Skills: Essential for coordinating with teams and managing documentation workflows.
  • Analytical Thinking & Initiative: Helps improve systems, solve problems, and adapt processes to project needs.
  • Leadership & Ownership: Crucial for managing documentation specialists and ensuring project success.
  • At least 3 years of experience in documentation and information stream management in complex project organizations, preferably in the infrastructure or offshore sector.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Proven knowledge of documentation systems and tools, especially in technical environments.
  • You are highly motivated, eager to learn, and open to working in a multicultural environment. While fluency in Dutch is not required, it is considered a plus. You live in the Netherlands.

Your contribution to TenneT

As a Document Manager, you are responsible for defining and implementing documentation management routines to ensure full transparency, traceability, and control of information—specifically supporting the use and development of ThinkProject within the business. You will be part of the 2GW program at TenneT, working within the Portfolio GE Seatrium, department Project Management, and contribute to the design and build of the 2GW program projects IJmuiden Ver Beta, Gamma, and Nederwiek 2.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Establish and manage document control systems like ThinkProject to ensure transparency, traceability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain high documentation quality, ensuring all documents meet TenneT standards and contractual obligations, including correct metadata and distribution.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to align documentation processes and support smooth collaboration across all stakeholders.
  • Provide training and user support for document management tools and procedures, helping teams adopt and effectively use the systems.
  • Monitor documentation workflows, generate reports, manage handovers, and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and system enhancements.

In addition, you will identify and implement system improvements, develop ad-hoc solutions for project-specific needs, and ensure alignment with TenneT standards. You will also prepare documentation for operational handover, manage final documentation delivery, and generate reports and statistics for project management.

You will work closely with engineers, project leads, and the Project Management Office (PMO), both within TenneT and with external contractors. Within the project’s PM team, you will have 10 direct colleagues (including 2 other Document Managers), and the broader 2GW team consists of around 50 people.

Work location: Hybrid working model with two fixed days (Monday and Tuesday) in Arnhem (Rijnpoort location), and occasional travel (approximately once per quarter) to construction sites in Singapore and Batam (Indonesia).

This will be our challenge

Large Projects Offshore is a key contributor to the energy transition. The Unit is responsible for the current and future development of the offshore grid as a whole and subsequently for the development and realization of the DC interconnectors and the Offshore Wind Farm grid connections in both the German and Dutch sectors of the North Sea.
