Retail Brand Manager – CeraVe

This Retail Brand Manager position focuses on CeraVe, a unique and dynamic brand within L’Oréal's Dermatological Beauty division. As Retail Brand Manager, you'll be a key member of a multidisciplinary marketing team, acting as the "Brand Champion" and driving CeraVe's growth by connecting with customers. Your responsibilities include developing and executing shopper-centric brand plans and differentiated retail activation strategies. These plans will be grounded in a deep understanding of the consumer decision journey and informed by relevant, up-to-date shopper insights, all while enhancing brand equity. In essence, you will lead and implement the 360° strategy for CeraVe, addressing local consumer needs with a primary focus on the pharmacy channel.

Scope of Work:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive retailer-brand strategy for the Benelux market, collaborating with the Brand Business Leader, Business Development team, and Account Managers. This strategy will be data-driven, leveraging sell-out analyses and shopper insights to maximize impact.
  • Ensure flawless execution of marketing campaigns and accurate forecasting to prevent out-of-stock situations, optimizing product availability and minimizing lost sales opportunities.
  • Drive successful in-store activations and new product launches at the point of sale (POS), creating engaging experiences that resonate with shoppers and drive conversion.
  • Rigorously measure and analyze campaign performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), including retailer sales data, online sales data, reach of retail media campaigns, and CRM insights. These data-driven evaluations will inform future strategies and optimize ROI.
  • Develop innovative and high-quality point-of-sale (POS) materials that effectively communicate brand messaging and support marketing activations, enhancing the shopper experience and driving sales.
  • Seamlessly integrate activation plans with the Product Brand Manager's media plans, ensuring a cohesive and consistent consumer journey across all touchpoints.
  • Proactively gather and analyze shopper insights to develop a forward-thinking category vision, identifying trends and opportunities to drive growth and market leadership.
  • Contribute to Revenue Growth Management analyses, providing valuable insights to optimize pricing, promotions, and assortment strategies.

Responsibilities:

Brand Guardianship and Strategy:

  • Champion the brand's expression across the Benelux region, overseeing retail strategy, including pos materials, artwork development, claim validation, model rights management, and field sales liaison.
  • Develop a compelling POS vision, including shelf strategy, aligned with the overall brand strategy and product propositions, enhancing the shopper experience and driving conversion.

Collaboration and Communication :

  • Lead and coordinate quarterly cycle meetings with commercial team, ensuring alignment on strategic priorities and effective execution.
  • Serve as the primary marketing contact for the sales team, effectively communicating their needs and insights to the broader marketing team, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment.
  • Act as the key point of contact for all marketing-related inquiries concerning the Pharmacy and Parapharmacy channels, providing expert guidance and support.

Launch Management and Forecasting:

  • Manage new product launch strategies, encompassing timing, sizing, and team introductions, ensuring successful market entry and maximizing impact.
  • Collaborate with the sales and logistics teams to develop accurate forecasts for promotions and launches, optimizing inventory management and minimizing stockouts.

Activation and Analysis:

  • Develop and execute impactful activation plans within the (para)pharmacy channel, leveraging CRM data and shopper insights to create compelling trade presentations and drive conversion.
  • Co-create effective sales presentations and tools with teammates, analyzing and evaluating key touchpoints in the consumer journey, such as sampling, testers, POS materials, merchandising, window displays, and gift-with-purchase (GWP) initiatives.
  • Drive a consumer-centric and data-driven approach, utilizing category insights, competitor analyses, market trends, and sell-out data to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Support media strategy optimization by providing data-driven insights and recommendations, and contribute to e-commerce growth by enhancing traffic and conversion on retailer websites.

Budget and Administration :

  • Manage budget tracking, maintain updated purchase price planning (PPP) files, and oversee purchase order (PO) creation.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, preferably in a pharmaceutical/scientific or business administration discipline.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in brand product management, with a preference for candidates with category-driven experience.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Broad understanding of the pharmacy, medical, or FMCG industries, encompassing areas such as digital marketing, category management, e-commerce, and sales.
  • Native fluency in either French or Dutch and professional proficiency in English.
