Are you passionate about driving impact in creating a more sustainable food system? Do you have broad expertise of internationally diverse farming systems? Are you energized by taking a practical approach in turning complex sustainability research questions into actionable and viable business solutions? Then Rabo Research is looking for you.
As a senior agriculture sustainability business analyst, you will work in one of the most dynamic international departments of Rabobank: RaboResearch. You know all about different farming systems, practices and processes. You are passionate about farmer engagement and have farmers’ interests and perspectives at heart. You have gained experience in farming practice and excel in pragmatic and commercial thinking & acting via roles in private agribusiness companies e.g. farm inputs companies, processing companies, cooperatives or traders. You understand how farming systems vary regionally and how changes in farming practices can differentially impact the environment at local, regional, and global scales.
Vice-versa – from a double materiality perspective – you can assess how climate change, biodiversity loss and loss of ecosystem services impact farming systems. You also understand how F&A corporates in dynamic value chains, influence and depend on farmers, and enable food system transitions. You apply a pragmatic approach to turn fact-based information into practical actionable insights for our farming and corporate agribusiness clients. You bring client-relevant opportunities and challenges for practical, holistic and economically-viable business implementations to internal stakeholders in the bank to make well-informed decisions, in line with Rabobank’s Nature Vision.
“I really enjoy translating complex (scientific) ideas into actionable insights for our clients and the bank to make our food system more sustainable. This job gives me the freedom to develop and discuss these ideas in a multidisciplinary team.”
Frank Groenewoud, biodiversity researcher in Food Systems Research, RaboResearch.
Growing enough food to feed 10 billion people in 2050 in a just and sustainable way is perhaps the key challenge of the 21st century. Rabobank aims to play its role in shaping this sustainable food future by engaging with clients and other stakeholders in the food system. That’s where you come in, providing important insights that are needed to help our clients to produce food and agri commodities in a way that respects ecological boundaries, complies with international commitments and regulations, and promotes global food security. You will play a key part in implementing metrics and frameworks that will enable us to assess environmental, incl. biodiversity, impacts and risks at farm-level, as well as at corporate clients active in food & agribusiness value chains.
We believe in the power of difference and cooperation. Bringing together people's unique knowledge and perspectives as well as differences is what makes us an even better bank. So we are very curious about what you can bring to our team at Food Systems Research at the bank’s highly valued knowledge center: RaboResearch.
“It is a privilege to work with a team of colleagues with such a broad and diverse set of expertise, backgrounds and skills, collaborating to deliver insights to support clients and the bank in growing a better, more sustainable, world together. Will you join us to develop and customize sustainability insights for our regional businesses and clients?”
Marjan van Riel, Global Strategist Food Systems Research in RaboResearch Food & Agribusiness.
Your over 140 colleagues in RaboResearch around the globe, and 10 colleagues within Food Systems Research, can't wait to meet you. Now it's your turn to make them stronger in bringing a broad sustainability perspective to the table and connecting the dots strategically but also practically between various environmental, social and economic (business case) criteria to optimize the 'risk-reward-sustainability' triangle. Working together is the way we work; as one creative and energetic team at Rabobank.
