Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play a crucial role in balancing energy supply and demand. These projects require skilled leadership to ensure their successful development and execution. That’s why we are looking for a Project Manager BESS to strengthen our team and drive the energy transition forward.

What you’ll do

As a Project Manager for BESS projects, you will oversee the development and execution of large-scale battery storage projects in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. You will manage projects in various phases, from initial preparation (Front End Loading) to final execution and handover to the asset management team.

You will work within core teams, collaborating with developers and asset managers. Your role involves contributing to the business case, creating the project execution framework, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. During execution, you will ensure budget and planning adherence while driving the safe implementation of the project.

Is this about you?

• A completed technical HBO or WO degree (e.g., Engineering or Technical Business Administration).
• At least 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Proven track record in project management across all phases.
• A structured and proactive approach, with a strong sense of responsibility.
• A team player who enjoys personal and professional development.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.

You’ll be responsible for

• Managing all aspects of BESS investment project implementation.
• Preparing and structuring each project with a solid execution plan.
• Assembling and leading project teams.
• Monitoring project progress, budget, and quality, while ensuring safety and permit compliance.
• Identifying and solving bottlenecks across projects.
• Coordinating contractors, third parties, and key stakeholders.
• Managing risks related to finance, administration, and environmental impact.

This is where you’ll work

You will be part of the team of engineers, project managers and specialists which prepares and executes large scale capex projects within Eneco. Once a project is realised, it will be handed over to the asset management teams. Eneco has a large project portfolio, with an impressive track-record in the challenging and innovative renewable energy industry.

• Gross annual salary between €86.000 and €128.000 Including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance, and depending on your role a bonus or collective profit sharing.
