Dit ga je doen

Als Test Engineer ben je onderdeel van het product development team, bestaande uit vijf developers, één DevOps engineer, een UX-designer en een Product Owner.
Bij Censo geloven we dat duurzaamheid begint bij kwaliteit. Als ervaren Test Engineer heb je een sleutelrol in het waarborgen van die kwaliteit binnen onze softwareproducten Censo.live en Mijn Censo. Beide applicaties zijn oplossingen die organisaties helpen hun energieverbruik te monitoren, te verlagen en te verduurzamen. In jouw rol is het van belang dat je in staat bent om de behoefte van de klant te begrijpen en vanuit daar scenario's en tests te ontwikkelen.

Tegelijkertijd ondersteun je het team als Scrum Master (nevenrol). Doel hierbij is om een open werkcultuur te stimuleren en het team te helpen continu te verbeteren.

• Zorg je dat testen geïntegreerd is in het hele ontwikkelproces – van idee tot release;
• Focus je op het automatiseren van tests: je ontwikkelt scenario's en de bijhorende automatische tests die je vervolgens door ontwikkelt;
• Werk je nauw samen met developers en Product Owners om risico’s vroegtijdig te signaleren en te voorkomen;
• Stel je teststrategieën op, denk je mee over acceptatiecriteria en borg je gebruikerswaarde;
• Stimuleer je een kwaliteitsbewuste mindset in het hele team.

Daarnaast faciliteer je als Scrum Master:

• De Scrum-events (daily, review, retrospective, planning);
• Help je het team om zelfstandig te groeien en obstakels weg te nemen;
• Bewaak je de agile-werkwijze en stimuleer je continue verbeteringen.

Dit breng jij mee

• Je hebt een afgeronde hbo- of wo-opleiding in een relevante richting (bijvoorbeeld IT, techniek of softwareontwikkeling);
• Je hebt minimaal 5 jaar ervaring als tester en test engineer;
• Je werkt aantoonbaar vanuit de behoefte van de klant;
• Je hebt ruime ervaring met testautomatisering (Playwright, Selenium, etc);
• Je hebt ervaring, of affiniteit, met de Scrum Master rol;
• Je kunt goed schakelen tussen techniek en proces, en tussen detail en overzicht;
• Je hebt affiniteit met duurzaamheid en herkent je in onze missie.

Uit onderzoek blijkt dat sommigen pas solliciteren als ze zich 100% in deze omschrijving herkennen, terwijl anderen dit al bij 60% doen. Ons advies is om bij twijfel gewoon te reageren.

Your Role

As a Test Engineer / Scrum Master, you’ll be part of the Product Development Team, consisting of five developers, one DevOps engineer, a UX designer, and a product owner.

At Censo, we believe that sustainability starts with quality. As a Test Engineer, you play a key role in ensuring the quality of our software products, Censo.live and Mijn Censo.
Both applications are solutions that help organizations monitor, reduce, and make their energy consumption more sustainable. In your role, it is important that you are able to understand the customers needs en develop scenarios and tests based on that understanding.

At the same time, you support the team in your secondary role as Scrum Master by facilitating collaboration, encouraging an open work culture, and continuously helping the team improve.

In your primary role as Test Engineer, you will:

• Ensure testing is integrated into the entire development process – from concept to release;
• Focus on test automation: you develop scenarios and the corresponding automated tests, which you then continue to refine;
• Work closely with developers and product owners to detect and prevent risks early on;
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts;
• Define test strategies, contribute to acceptance criteria, and safeguard user value;
• Promote a quality-first mindset across the team.

In your secondary role as Scrum Master, you will:

• Facilitate Scrum events (daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, planning);
• Help the team grow toward self-management and remove obstacles;
• Ensure Agile practices are followed and promote continuous improvement;

What You Bring

• A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. IT, engineering, software development);
• At least 5 years of experience as a tester and test engineer;
• You demonstrably work based on the customer's needs;
• Experience with test automation (e.g. Playwright, Selenium, etc);
• You have experience with the Scrum Master role;
• The ability to shift between technical detail and broader process overviews;
• Affinity with sustainability and alignment with our mission.
