About the job

As Category Sourcing Manager Dairy Ingredients, your mission is to define and execute the sourcing strategy for Skimmed Milk Powder, Skimmed Milk Concentrate and Base Powders for Danone Specialised Nutrition business.

You are fully accountable for setting up tender, negotiating, allocating, following up consumption to all SN Supply Points across Europe, and managing all the financials related to your categories, such as market effects and productivity projects. The role is key in sourcing milk protein at optimal price for the numerous Danone supply points.

You will collaborate daily with:

• key internal business stakeholders in: D2D R&I (advanced ingredients, science, technology), quality, operations, finance, supply chain planning, compliance, and legal
• key external business stakeholders, namely Dairy Ingredients suppliers across the Europe geography.

Key responsibilities:

Strategy development and execution:

• Be recognized as the expert and the representative of the category internally and externally
• Develop in-depth market knowledge on the dairy market, regional players, and insights, including business needs.
• Execute sourcing strategy and follow up on execution and define priorities with key stakeholders.
• Coach, empower, and develop your team member

Category objective setting:

• Align objectives with functional senior management and internal stakeholders.
• Budget and Rolling forecast/ Purchasing Price Variance
• Material variance analysis

Market risk management:

• Material coverage recommendation and execution for own scope

Dairy Ingredients sourcing:

• Tender preparation, E-auctions, contract negotiations
• Lead or co-lead with R&I, Operations or Quality of category sourcing projects: portfolio simplification, dual sourcing, reformulation

Supplier relationship & performance management:

• Direct management of top suppliers of the category within scope.
• Preparation of performance objectives and annual business reviews

Category reporting and compliance:

• Monitor and support regions on financial performance: productivity & cash

Lead the agenda with the supplier on our Dairy Ingredients Sustainability Roadmap

You will report to Cuan HANSSEN, Global Category Sourcing Director.

About you

You have bachelor/ master degree ideally in engineering/food science with the combination of 7+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing in food/ingredients in multinational companies.

In addition, you have:

• Solid experience of working in a fast-paces entrepreneurial environment and creativity to solve problems and oriented for value creation.
• Pragmatism, "hands on" mentality, with strategic business approach.
• Ability to navigate in ambiguous environment, tenacity with strong adaptation and relationship capabilities, to gain credibility and create an efficient network within EU regions and suppliers.
• Ability to influence and manage senior cross functional stakeholders.
• Financial and business acumen.
• Market risk management/Commodities knowledge.
• Knowledge of the infant/specialized nutrition product is a plus
• Ability to influence stakeholders across seniority levels, to attract, mentor, and inspire talents.
• Ability to challenge the status quo, strive for continuous improvement.
• Innovative and proactive in problem-solving and solution implementation.
