With a fast-growing network of stores and thousands of subscribers across the Netherlands, we’re already making specialty coffee more accessible in Amsterdam. Now, we’re scaling up in Den Haag. We’ve already opened one store in Den Haag, with one more opening in June. To keep our operational standards high, we’re looking for a Store Manager to take charge of daily operations, team development, and regional performance across 2 locations (and more on the horizon).

Your role

As our Store Manager for Den Haag, you’ll be responsible for the daily operations and performance of 2-3 Wakuli stores in the region. While the Retail Opening Manager takes the lead on launching new locations, you’ll work closely with them to ensure a smooth and successful rollout. You will report to the Retail Operations Manager, who oversees the broader store portfolio, to align on strategy, consistency, and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves developing teams, and is excited to shape the Wakuli experience in Den Haag — all while being deeply involved in daily operations and regional growth.

Job requirements

What you'll own:

  • The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of up to 5 store locations, while reporting to the Retail Operations Manager. This role requires the store manager to work at least a shift in each location weekly, ensuring consistent management presence and direct engagement with each store's staff and operations.
  • Streamline and optimise fulfilment, stock keeping and supplier relations of local store products in line with our Distribution Center and local suppliers
  • Create and communicate the store schedules to all employees, optimise scheduling to fit store needs
  • Train new employees to succeed at Wakuli, including ensuring that new team members are following all recipes and processes and that they are able to tell why we do what we do, are upbeat and vibes are positive
  • Positive and solution-focused handling of any minor customer issue, with a good observing and empathic view towards our customers
  • At a store level, lead all initiatives with the product and brand teams to increase foot traffic, new customers, daily sales, and operational profitability with a neighborhood focus.
  • Maintain operational excellence and ensure all stores are following all Wakuli Standard Operating Procedures, including following proper delivery receiving, trash removal, and wastage recording, staff policies, and that any store issues are reported to HQ.

What you'll bring:

  • 3+ years experience in retail, hospitality or HoReCA, including leading multi-store teams or large store operations
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is a strong plus
  • Love for coffee and the retail- and service industry
  • Strong knowledge of, or willingness to learn quickly about specialty coffee
  • Strong decision-making and multi-tasking skills
  • Growth mindset
  • Strong interpersonal communication and management skills
  • Minimum of 38 hours of availability per week, including weekends.
