Make your mark on our time. Join TNO as a QSHE Coordinator!

About this position

The ICT, Strategy & Policy (ISP) Unit at TNO is looking for a new QSHE Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE) within the unit. You will translate these areas into practical actions and support the Manager of Operations Support in ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, implementing the TNO management system, and driving continuous improvement. The aim of this role is to safeguard compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while also ensuring that operations run effectively and efficiently according to the TNO management system.

What will be your role?

You will ensure that the QHSE policy is well known and consistently followed throughout the unit. You will create support and raise awareness among colleagues, helping them to adopt new procedures or practices to work in a safer, more efficient, and more organized way. You will also serve as the main point of contact and sparring partner for all QHSE-related questions.

You will define objectives within the framework of TNO’s and the unit’s goals and legal requirements. You will coordinate their implementation, manage the associated processes, and ensure they are embedded within the organization. In addition, you will maintain the QHSE dashboard and organize the necessary procedures. You will proactively monitor progress on QSHE-related action points and conduct inspections and audits within and on behalf of the unit. You will also identify areas for improvement and discuss these with the Manager of Operations Support and the Research Managers.

Furthermore, you will support and instruct the QSHE task and role holders within the unit, such as prevention officers, quality contacts, lab managers, and the Unit Coordinator TMB. You will ensure they have access to the necessary instructions, procedures, and training. In addition, you will coordinate the follow-up of incidents reported in the incident registration system and actively work to prevent similar incidents in the future.

What we expect from you

You are proactive, accurate, and an excellent communicator. You demonstrate organizational sensitivity and have a hands-on mentality. You work independently but easily collaborate with others when needed. You are naturally good at inspiring people and creating support for changes, and you know how to translate policy into practical actions. You recognize yourself in the following points:

  • Higher professional education (HBO) level of thinking and working.
  • Affinity with (and preferably knowledge of) Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment (QSHE).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant standards and protocols.
  • Experience with change processes and the implementation and embedding of improvements.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in motivating colleagues.

What you'll get in return

Challenging and varied work with a real impact. And plenty of opportunities as, at TNO, you are in charge of shaping your career. We offer a gross monthly salary between €3.500,- and €4.750,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). In addition, you will be given every opportunity to develop yourself.

TNO offers optional employee benefits, enabling you to tailor your benefits package to match your personal situation. You may also expect:

  • An extremely professional, innovative working environment where colleagues are leading experts in their field.
  • The opportunity to attend courses, workshops and conferences, and to receive training and coaching based on your needs.
  • 33 days annual leave on a full-time basis.

  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home.
  • A good pension scheme.
