About this role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Financial Accountant R2R to support financial reporting, trend analysis, and process improvements. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial data, identifying variances and trends, and contributing to data-driven decision-making.

This position is ideal for someone who is fully qualified or currently pursuing a qualification with a strong foundation in core accounting, who will also have a strong interest in self-learning and developing data-handling and coding skills to support automation, efficiency improvements, and enhanced financial reporting. You will work closely with finance teams, auditors, and internal stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

Core Accounting & Reporting:

• Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial reports.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries.
• Ensure accuracy in intercompany accounting and consolidation processes.
• Ensure accuracy in fixed asset accounting, including fixed account reconciliations
• Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with IFRS.

Financial Analysis & Insights:

• Assist in analyzing financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Investigate unusual transactions and discrepancies, ensuring data integrity.
• Support variance analysis on key financial accounts (e.g., marketing, accruals, leasing, fixed assets).
• Contribute to the development of financial dashboards and reporting tools.

Process Improvements & Compliance:

• Participate in projects aimed at automating and optimizing accounting processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS, internal policies, and financial controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline financial workflows and align with global finance standards.

What will you bring to the table?

• Qualified accountant or actively pursuing a qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, or a similar role
• Solid understanding of UK GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with month-end closing, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Workday, Oracle, or similar) and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis tools, etc.)
• Analytical mindset with experience in identifying financial trends and insights
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
