Manager Whey Valorisation

Are you the one to drive a multi-million euro impact on our whey valorization strategy? As Manager Product Strategy Whey Ingredients, you will lead a team of product owners responsible for our whey portfolio. Whey valorization is at the heart of our growth ambitions with significant investments in capacity expansion and innovation. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering our strategy. You will be a key sparring partner to the Director of Product Strategy and take ownership of the innovation workstream within our strategy. For the sidestream strategy, you will have full accountability from development to successful execution. To succeed in this role, you will ensure your team is well-trained, motivated, and fully equipped to drive the projects that power our growth.

What we ask

To be successful as a Manager Product Strategy Whey Ingredients you are:

  • A leader that sets an inspirational direction for the team and are able to handle a complex environment with many interrelations
  • Experienced for >10 years in B2B commerce, ideally complemented with experience in another discipline (ie. Supply Chain or R&D)
  • Good at functioning in a large corporate, being able to make an impact, take stakeholders along in a decision or get senior stakeholders to take a decision.
  • Financial knowledge to build and evaluate business cases and pricing strategies, as well as capability to coach others to do so
  • Able to take decisions based on partial information, able to quickly recognize what are the things that make the difference

Vacancy description

  • Whey valorization strategy: Co-ownership with director product strategy, where the director has the principal role, while the manager whey valorization is lead for the innovation workstream (which included both commercial and R&D scope).
  • Sidestream strategy: Full ownership, leading the multidisciplinary team that defines the sidestream strategy. Getting BG MT endorsement and required decisions on resource allocation and investments
  • Own key projects: Act as a principal, project manager or market/innovation lead for projects required to realize the whey valorization and sidestream strategy
  • Hierarchically leading the team of 4 product managers responsible for the whey based ingredients portfolio, making sure that the team understands the relations within the full portfolio and optimal whey valorization decisions are taken instead of suboptimal decisions on product level.
  • Value pricing: Organize world class market intelligence so the whey valorization portfolio can beat the market with value pricing. Support the team with development of storylines based on market facts for the global sales community to increase prices / minimize price decreases and identify pockets of sustainable value growth for the team.
  • Network optimization: Translating the market needs for the product group into requirements for the supply chain and engage with SC team to realize the required changes.
  • World class product management: together with the peer (manager PGM Specialties) own and run the PGM excellence program, making the team has an outside-in mindset, well connected to the market and the industry. Set up and implement a set of product management best practices
