Who am I?

We are seeking a Legal Counsel with a commercial mindset to pro-actively partner with our business teams, providing commercial legal support to the L’Oréal organization in the Benelux. The full-time position is based in Hoofddorp with remote working up to 2 days a week.

The role reports into the General Counsel for the Benelux. As our Legal Counsel, you are a legal partner for all our divisions in advising and guiding them towards all kinds of (international) commercial contracts. It is important to feel comfortable to collaborate with different stakeholders and that you know how to convince them if necessary. You play a key role in the onboarding of new commercial partnership contracts, e-commerce and technology. Furthermore, you provide legal training sessions to empower the business. Next thereto you will be handling the legal administrative affairs, which means you will be responsible for all corporate documents, updating the external commercial trade registers, filing of signed contracts and various other.

Profile

• around 4-7 years of experience as a lawyer and/or in-house counsel in the Netherlands or Belgium
• substantial knowledge of and experience with commercial contracting (preferably distribution contracts)
• experience in the practice of general business law, with a focus on marketing, sales, distribution and consumer law matters
• additional experience with competition law is a plus
• self-starter, strategic thinker and strong communication skills

We are looking for someone who:

• Understands the business and the organization of our Divisions
• Is familiar with internal standards and rules
• Ensures the proper application of the law and the internal guidelines of L'Oréal
• Is vigilant, pro-active, detailed and diligent in decoding facts and situations that may lead to a risk
• Has English and Dutch language skills, and preferably some French (basic)
• Has clear concise written and verbal communications skills.
