Then you should apply and become our new colleague.

Within IHC Smit B.V. multiple well-known IHC companies are united to be completely focused on developing, designing and building the most advanced, versatile and specialized mission equipment applicable in any of the main four markets of Royal IHC being dredging, offshore, mining and defence.
One of these companies is SAS-Hytop which is most capable of designing a variety of equipment such as pipe handling equipment and winches. Besides this SAS-Hytop is also the backbone of the company when it comes to hydraulic system and equipment design, which can be summarized as follows:

The strength of SAS-Hytop is based on decades of experience when it comes to developing and engineering all of these systems and related equipment. Working within such a group of engineers will require persons who are fully committed to aim for best technical solutions and have a special interest in hydraulic system designs and its applications.

Your responsibilities

  • Engineering of new hydraulic equipment (i.e. prepare designs of Hydraulic Power Units (HPU), skids accommodating filters, oil coolers or accumulators, control and safety manifolds including electrical boxes for cabling connections, hydraulic pipe and hose routing on all kinds of HPUs and skids.
  • Designs to be made, either from concept or directly to detailed ready for Procurement and Production which includes a complete Bill Of Materials and assessed against all requirements either from client or internal design rules or from the applicable Classification Society.
  • Searching for and applying suppliers data of all commodity parts being applied in the equipment.
  • Maintain internal communication with all stakeholders such as the Hydraulic System Engineer, the Lead Engineer or Team Lead for progress update and planning. As well as with representatives from other departments such as Procurement (purchasers) and Production (assembly and testing engineers).

Your Profile

To be eligible for the position of Hydraulic Equipment Engineer, you must have the following:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering (or any closely related engineering study).
  • A minimum 3 years of experience working in mechanical equipment designs, either in the maritime industry or other relevant industries.
  • Special interest in hydraulic systems and equipment for motion and control, would be a preference.
  • Used to work with a variety of 3D/2D CAD software and familiar with integrated PDM and ERP solutions.
  • Organized and structured in detailing hydraulic equipment designs; many supplier parts to be processed and applied, so understanding and applying of their large product database is key.

Please note that only candidates with a valid EU work visa will be considered as viable candidates.

* These requirements give a direction to the profile we are looking. Research shows that male candidates apply if there is a 60% match and women only when there is a 100% match. Do you not meet all the requirements but do you think that this is the position for you? Then we would like to invite you to apply.

Royal IHC offers you:

  • A gross monthly salary between € 3846 and € 5602 +8% holiday allowance (based on 40 hours a week); exact amount to be determined by level of experience and suitability to the required profile.
