As a 2nd Engineer, you are the manager of the Engine Room. You work closely with the Chief Engineer and assist in the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the cargo system, engine room, and deck machinery. You carry out watch keeping duties as required by the Chief Engineer. You need to have electrical maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Updating the maintenance system and work reports are part of your daily tasks onboard. In the event of incapacity or absence, you should be able to assume the responsibilities of the Chief Engineer, holding the required certification.

Requirements and preferences

• Advanced Gas Tanker certificate
• Good command of English language
• Experience with mixed nationality crew
