We are currently recruiting for a Finance & Business Operations Analyst for MUFG Securities in Amsterdam (18 months).

MUFG Securities (Europe) N.V., is part of the Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Holdings Co., Ltd which includes MUFG Securities EMEA plc, MUFG Securities Americas Inc., MUFG Securities (Canada), Ltd. and MUFG Securities Asia Limited. Our aim is to provide an internationally integrated securities operation offering best in class service and products to corporate and institutional clients and those of the MUFG group. MUFG Securities (Europe) N.V. (MUS(EU)) is headquartered in Amsterdam and has a branch in Paris.

MUS(EU) conducts activities under an MFID ‘EEA passport’ applicable to transactions with and services to all EEA clients. Whilst leading up to Brexit, MUS(EU) was busy expanding our product range and enhancing our capability in readiness for the European market. The first trade was conducted on 25 March 2019. MUS(EU) offers a variety of flow products such as Debt Capital Markets, Structured Solutions, Derivatives Solutions Group, Repo Group, Equity Solutions, Securitization, and Green Bonds in order to meet the demands of our clients.

Based in Amsterdam and Paris, MUS(EU) is an integral part of MUFG’s global securities platform working closely with MUFG Securities (EMEA), MUFG Bank and MUFG bank (Europe) N.V. to offer a single MUFG solution to meet the needs of clients – it was established in order to replicate the services and arrangements which existed within MUFG Securities.

Your impact at MUFG

MUS(EU) is the European investment banking entity of MUFG, and operates in close partnership with its direct parent MUS(EMEA), the UK investment banking subsidiary of MUFG, and MUFG Bank (Europe) to provide financial intermediation between corporate and institutional clients and the market. MUS(EU) is active throughout the European capital markets, focusing on debt, derivatives and structured products.

You will support the MUS(EU) Management team to ensure smooth running of the entity. You will take lead in coordinating entity activity, management information and process improvement initiatives.

The role requires strong organisational skills, a high attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced corporate environment. We are looking for an innovative individual to help us deliver on our commitments and improve overall efficiency.

The role includes the following:

  • Support the smooth running of MUS(EU).
  • Coordinate given tasks across the entity, including, inter alia ensuring key policy and procedure documents are kept updated.
  • Represent MUS(EU) in identified projects and programmes.
  • Manage multiple initiatives and lead the coordination of tasks required to ensure timely delivery of these initiatives.
  • Managing diverse stakeholders at all levels of seniority and technical / non-technical backgrounds to deliver business requirements.
  • Implement approved process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Support in the cost control management of the entity, including expense reporting, tracking and challenging costs.
  • Develop presentation materials articulating key initiatives at a high level for various stakeholders including Town Halls and for Senior Executives.
  • Proactively maintain the MUS(EU) Kizuna pages to ensure accurate and up to date information.
  • Coordination with key stakeholders in identifying relevant key performance and risk indicators (quantitative and qualitative) to produce high level management reports.
  • Develop, design, and maintain effective PowerBI dashboards and reports.
  • Analyse complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights: translate to allow for streamlined decision making by non-subject matter experts.
  • Be a trusted partner to functional stakeholders and Planning department ensuring updates, issues and consensus is effectively managed and delivered.

In order to be successful in the role, you will need the following:

Skills and experience:

  • Experience in Business Management/COO teams, Risk and/or other control function, with a solid track record of achievements
  • 4+ years securities (capital markets, sales & trading) experience
  • Have an understanding of external regulatory expectations and industry standards
  • Strong understanding of the project lifecycle
  • Front to back understanding of IB Operating model with good Front Office / product knowledge.
  • Experience in development of strategies; implementation of strategic or transformation programs / projects
  • Experienced interaction of delivering front to back solutions with demonstrable knowledge/interactions with functional divisions e.g. Finance, Ops, Risk, Legal, Compliance
  • Direct experience in managing multiple functional stakeholders (senior level) and consultants to derive clear and tangible outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Result & delivery driven, with a strong sense of accountability
  • Advanced Experience of MS Project and or other PM tools (Planview)
  • Microsoft Office skills (specifically PowerPoint, Visio, Excel & Word).

  • Current Prince II Foundation (or equivalent)
  • SCRUM/Agile (basics) is an advantage
