Introduction to the job

We are looking for a Team Leader within the (R&D) mechanical development cluster DUV REMA team at ASML! The Team Leader (TL) is the first-line management layer position. The TL supervises and manages a team, providing direction and guidance to engage them. Ensures coordination and execution of operational and tactical activities by the own team(s) in accordance with the team’s plan and policies in order to achieve team goals.

Role and responsibilities

TL has people management responsibility and also supports line managers in building the strategy for the team. In MDEV DUV Mechanical Imaging group, TLs work together with the Product Owner (PO) and Mechanical Architect of the team and report to the Group Lead (GL).

The Team Leader is responsible for the following:

  • Being responsible for the output and the quality of the team. Works closely with GL to ensure the quality standards are in line with group & department strategy.
  • Take full ownership of the REMA mechanical development or issues from start to end.
  • Resource management of the team and creates short and long term plans for timely deliverables of the team, supports GL during TAP/budget cycle.
  • Identifies team’s core competences and ensures the right competences are in the team, makes sure they are developed for the future and succession planning is in place.
  • Having full responsibilities for the team direct reports during yearly HR cycles (incl. Develop & Perform, Goal Setting, Talent Management), in close collaboration with Group Leader (GL)
  • Ensures well-being of the team members
  • Creates an environment in which employees feel engaged, focused and can grow to their full potential including role clarity, competency development and target-appraisal settings.
  • Enables a high performing team by providing transparency on team maturity, predictability & progress
  • Works with the team to ensure that the team improves on ASML processes and way of working
  • Facilitates the team rituals and contributes to ASML Development Model (ADM) Train activities

Education and experience

  • Master in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Precision, Mechatronics, Industrialization.
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience within Mechanical Engineering domain.
  • At least 2 years of experience in leading design teams of 5 engineers and above.
  • Excellent knowledge in the field of design and manufacturing of mechanical parts.
  • Skilled in technical, correct and effective communication with suppliers.
  • Experienced in evaluating FEM / mechanical analysis results.

Within ASML, the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification, design and engineering of the ASML products. The cluster Mechanical Development is designing, building and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products. In this cluster, departments with different competences are responsible for the various modules of the ASML products. Each department consists of discipline and/or function oriented groups where emphasis lies on particular competences or functions in ASML equipment.
