Description of the role

If you join the Business Intelligence & Analytics team, you become part of ASML’s largest department: Development & Engineering. Here you will get a front-row seat of our company’s key process: where the sharpest minds in hardware and software, design and develop some of the world’s most complex machines.

Our mission is to work with experts in our organization and use data to create value for ASML and its customers. We do this by participating in large transformation programs that bring change throughout ASML, and by working directly with teams and colleagues in the organization to unlock new insights and develop effective data-driven solutions that solve specific problems and drive continuous improvement. We work closely with our partners in IT to ensure our algorithms, dashboards and applications are deployed in a sustainable manner and supported to secure availability.

With the demand for chips continuously growing, our customers challenge us to deliver more advanced lithography solutions at higher speeds and quality. We consider data a key enabler in facing this challenge and are excited about the impact we can make by leveraging our data, analytics and visualization skills. For example, by predicting the amount of parts to keep in stock, by developing an enterprise dashboard that delivers consistent performance insights on all levels of the organization, or by analyzing unstructured data for opportunities to improve cycle time of specific processes.

Education and experience

• > 6 years of practical experience as UX researcher and designer
• Experience in large and complex organizations like ASML
• Fluent in English, both written and verbally
• Experience with design tools like Figma
• Expert in bridging business and technology

• Be an ambassador of user experience and drive awareness across our organization
• Establish and continuously mature our team’s user experience competency, you are the go-to person
• Engage with experts, stakeholders and users in our engineering organization to identify their root challenges
• Establish your personal network of experts for understanding the reality of engineering
• Quickly understand the business requirements and context in which a solution is to be developed
• Facilitate and participate in effective workshops to see how data can be used to solve these problems
• Define the optimal user-centered design approach based on the project goals and status quo
• Prepare and execute user research methods such as contextual inquiry and task analysis
• Effectively present your findings using e.g. personas, user journeys, user stories
• Create wireframes and interactive prototype to guide effective decision-making and development
• Validate prototypes through local, remote, moderated and unmoderated usability tests
• Define quantitative UX metrics and collect data to report and present in an convincing manner
• Apply the ASML design guidelines and improve or extend them if necessary
• Actively share challenges and best practices with your UX peers in other teams across ASML

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
