Community Manager (Learning Design)

As our Community Manager (Learning Design) you will play a pivotal role in building, training, engaging, and growing our Learning Design Community (LDC)—a network of learning designers, educators, and industry/pedagogy experts. Your work will be essential in fostering a dynamic, sustainable, and impactful community that promotes knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the adoption of high-quality learning designs.

You will empower experts by educating and training them on developing learning design templates, driving meaningful engagement, and spearheading initiatives that enhance the community’s success and long-term growth. Your efforts will help shape a thriving ecosystem where innovation in learning design can flourish.

You will work closely with various departments within our organization, including Product, Marketing, Sales, and Partner Success, to ensure alignment and sustainability.

Job Responsibilities

Creator Engagement & Growth (40% of your time)

  • Build, sustain, and nurture a thriving Learning Design Community both online and offline.

  • Identify, engage, and train our learning design creators to contribute to high-impact learning design templates.

  • Facilitate discussions, moderate forums, and encourage active participation across platforms.

  • Develop and implement an engagement strategy that drives long-term participation and knowledge exchange.

  • Partner with internal teams to align community growth with organizational goals.

Content Creation & Curation (30% of your time)

  • Develop and distribute high-value learning design templates, best practices, and industry insights.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external experts to produce webinars, e-books, research reports, and community-focused events.

  • Curate user-generated content to showcase success stories, best practices, and innovative applications of learning designs.

  • Advocate for the adoption of learning design principles and best practices both internally and externally.

Community Events & Feedback (20% of your time)

  • Organize and facilitate community events, such as virtual meetups, hackathons, and conferences, to foster engagement and knowledge exchange.

  • Launch and sustain regional and global community spaces for targeted engagement.

  • Lead the InspirED annual event & Learning Design Creator Awards to highlight top contributors and their impactful learning designs.

  • Serve as the voice of the community within the organization, providing feedback loops to influence product development.

Community Metrics & Reporting(10% of your time)

  • Track and report on community engagement, adoption, and impact metrics, including:

    • Learning Design template adoption, number of creators, number of community members and the overall community engagement metrics and feedback analysis

  • Support a data-driven approach to learning design by collecting insights from community interactions.

  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and continuously optimize strategies based on data insights.

Your Experience

Scale-ups provide tremendous learning and development opportunities, often requiring adaptability and innovation. You should thrive in a fast-moving, iterative environment and be comfortable driving initiatives in an evolving space.

You Have:

  • Proven experience in community management, learning design, instructional design, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge/interest in instructional design principles, pedagogy, and learning technology trends.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Proficiency with community management tools (e.g. Gainsight, slack, Gather, etc.), social media platforms, and online collaboration spaces.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and a growth mindset to scale the community effectively.

  • Experience in hosting webinars, proficient in content and development, or organizing events is key.
