Your job

As a Solution Architect within ABN Amro Clearing, you play a crucial role in moving our business forward. You will have responsibility for adherence and the design of IT solutions. You will focus on the optimal use of our IT landscape and steer our change in the direction of our defined future state architecture. Today, but also in the future, ABN Amro Clearing wants to use modern technologies.

The function of IT Solution Architect is best described as:

1. Dealing with Complexity. ABN Amro Clearing is a bank in itself. As an IT Solution Architect, you can balance short-term delivery of IT solutions against delivery of long-term solutions that fit within strategy and architecture.
2. Deliver. Our business lines are demanding. You can discuss the opportunities and constraints related to business requests. Business requirements are key but fit within the application of the IT architecture strategy is your responsibility and is governed by you.
3. Technology. Our IT environment provides lots of opportunities to work on tactical and strategic levels related to the impact of IT-events such as DevOps, Cloud and Streaming.

It is your job to oversee our landscape. But also, to inspire, involve and activate the development teams with each and every change. You investigate, tune, and verify standards and strategic views with internal and external global stakeholders (e.g. product owners, business managers, IT managers, external authorities). You support decision making by creating, providing, and communicating clear deliverables. You develop and maintain solutions architectures in line with global target architecture, global policies, security standards and best practices covering all aspects from business service down to related information technology (the full stack) in order to contribute to and increase the reliability, security, flexibility, quality, and cost efficiency of the global organization.

Your profile

• Proven experience (+4 years) in the IT application solution architecture domain, within a comparably complex environment (high stakes, in- & external stakeholders, complex IT environment, different time zones and diverse cultures).
• Knowledge of clearing and risk modelling is considered a plus.
• Knowledge and experience in one or more of below areas is considered a plus:
  • Micro-services and Event-driven architecture.
  • Application development and integration.
  • Containerized, serverless, and cloud-native applications.
  • Scalable, high performance enterprise products.
  • Experience with solution architecture of loosely coupled, domain driven services architecture.
  • Experience in initiatives where applications transform from a monolithic architecture towards a service-based architecture.
  • Developer background (C++ is a plus).
  • Experience with Cloud Platform Architecture (AWS is a plus).
• Knowledge of the various aspects of Data and IT architecture (applications functions, software development; application platforms, data structures and interaction patterns, data storage & retention strategies, data security aspects) in combination with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Knowledge and experience in architecture implementations and related methods and tools, such as TOGAF and Archimate.
• You have a unique combination of development experience with a passion for technology and have a strong interest in working in the global capital markets. Your technology is up to date, so CI/CD, Cloud and Micro-services are nothing new to you. At the same time, you realize that our systems need to be up and running, the markets, our customers and our users depend on us.

• The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
• The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
• Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
• Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
• Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
• An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
