GRESB is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Consolidation and Finance Manager to lead our financial consolidation efforts and oversee financial operations, driving our strategic growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be working at the GRESB headquarters in Amsterdam, with the option to travel to Paris once a month if needed. This person should be fluent in both English and French.

The Team

The Finance Team is comprised of our CFO, Manager Business Control, Business Controller, and Junior Controller, supported by a team of work students, who focus on billing and other finance-related tasks. The team continuously seeks opportunities to improve its systems and methods, develop innovative ways to monitor and track data, and increase transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Consolidation, Reporting and Analysis:

  • Oversee the financial consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of consolidated financial statements (6 entities, multiple currencies).
  • Analyze financial results from various subsidiaries and business units, presenting insights to senior management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics and variances.

2. Accounting Policies and Procedures:

  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures for consolidation processes in line with applicable accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to financial reporting.

3. Tax Compliance and Planning:

  • Manage all aspects of tax compliance, including corporate income tax, payroll tax, sales tax, and other tax filings.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.

4. Fully Managing our French Subsidiary (Asset Impact)

  • Production of reliable & accurate accounts, from day-to-day bookkeeping, through to the production of the balance sheet and income statement, month-end cash flow and review of month-end balances.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Provide financial insights to support business decisions and strategic planning.

5. Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Monitor compliance with financial policies and procedures across the organization.

6. Team Player:

  • Fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Oversee training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Work closely with other departments to align financial strategies with business objectives.

7. Internal and External Stakeholder Interaction:

  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and efficient audits.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to gather financial data and insights necessary for consolidation.

8. System Implementation and Optimization:

  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of financial systems and tools to enhance consolidation processes.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial reporting accuracy and efficiency.

9. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations and tax compliance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to ensure proactive management of financial strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in financial consolidation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and practices relevant to consolidation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, reporting, and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
