Are you the entrepreneurial, data focused Product Owner which helps NN Bank to unlock the treasure trove of commercial data we have in our hands, enables our data scientists to easier do their job and can bring our Azure Data & AI platform to the next level? Then you are the person we are looking for!

What you are going to do

You will be responsible for the success and implementation of our commercial Data & AI services. These are key in providing commercial data about our customers in a central and uniform way to be leveraged by our business domains. By delivering AI capabilities, you open new opportunities for our teams to improve their processes.

You are a true ambassador of data driven use cases and help the business domains understand the opportunities at their doorstep. Some examples of those are real-time marketing propositions based on customer engagement, cost savings through reduction of manual labor or prevention of mistakes & fraud.

With the availability of more commercial data and the emergence of solutions where this data can be leveraged it is your task to manage the workload of the team. Manage the product backlog, communicate with stakeholders and make informed decisions about the roadmap to meet business objectives.

What does your team do?

Your team offers multiple services:

• Commercial Data Streaming – by connecting the data real-time we can enable marketing automation to deliver propositions to our customers which are accurate and timely;
• Customer 360 graph database – Based on the relationships between the data we can traverse these to build a full understanding of our customer;
• PowerBI connection to customer data – for easy self-service and reporting by our data driven colleagues.
• AI solutions

As such most of the activities the team undertakes are:

• Collaborate with the business on Data & AI use cases to improve our operational efficiency or unlock value existing within the commercial data available in Bank
• Provide support to our Data Engineers & Data Scientists by creation of AI Building blocks
• Own the Customer 360 graph database – with its rich customer data we can enable our Data & AI use cases
• Maintain the connections with the data lakes to ensure we have the data aggregated to enable the insights needed
• Enable our analysts to do report outs & exploration of our customer data using PowerBI.

We see an emerging need for centralizing Data & AI knowledge and provide solutions to easily start leveraging AI. For this we envision the team to start delivering ‘AI Building Blocks’. As a product owner you will work together with our Head of AI and NN group to create a vision on this.

Responsibilities in this role

• Work with stakeholders to define long-term vision for the Data & AI platform and set clear, measurable goals for its development
• Develop and maintain a prioritized product backlog, making decisions based on business value and technical feasibility, ensuring successful and effective implementation of the platform and services
• Collaboration with Payments domain to deliver marketing & fraud business cases;
• Conveys the product vision and product strategy to the members of the team, inspiring them to create extraordinary results
• Constantly analyze emerging trends in the market in partnership with the Head of AI at Bank to evaluate which are relevant
• Act as a bridge between the platform team and stakeholders, gathering feedback and ensuring needs are understood and managing expectations
• Ensures that the user stories are well formulated and aligned with the product strategy;
• Identify and mitigate risk related to the Advanced Business Analytics Platform including technical challenges, data quality issues and regulatory compliance
• Plays a key role in the Product Increment (SYNC) planning, ensuring realistic goals for each quarter

  • Proven experience in previous roles as Product Owner
  • Experienced at shaping vision and strategy for a digital product
  • Proficiency in making roadmaps and working in an agile workflow
  • Understanding of event streaming, batch processing and ETL of data
  • General understanding of Databricks, PowerBI, Apache Kafka and Neo4J
  • Experience with data governance & lineage
  • Dutch language proficiency is a bonus
  • Proficiency in cloud technologies (mostly Azure)

Who you will work with?

The Technology & Transformation (T&T) domain is responsible for the (tech) transformation of NN Bank. Your team is part of the Platforms & Enablement department and reports to the Manager Platforms alongside the teams responsible for Platform Services and the Integration Layer team. Although their targets are very different, they all serve the same shared mission:

• Help our colleagues focus on their teams unique selling point
• Promote re-use by standardization & centralization of solutions
• Build what makes sense, delegate what should be commodities

There is no relocation budget available for this role and we are looking for someone currently living in The Netherlands.
