Embedded Developer Opportunity at MomoMedical

Are you passionate about innovative solutions that bring hardware to life? Do you have all kinds of hobby projects related to embedded systems? As a Sensor Superstar at Momo, you will work on writing code for products used by caregivers (such as pendants and our BedSense) as well as calibration machines used by the production team to assemble all those sensors.

Your mission is successful when new hardware is deployed and new features are unlocked.

Maak kennis met je nieuwe team om de sfeer bij Momo te proeven.

Who is Momo?

Momo Medical is a fast-growing and ambitious scale-up in Delft that focuses on one of society's biggest challenges: the future of (elderly) care. In the next 10 years, the demand for care will double, while 30% of the current workforce will retire. With our innovative solutions, we want to both reduce the pressure on caregivers and improve the quality of care. In short, we want to improve the quality of life for nursing home residents and increase the job satisfaction of caregivers.

The most valuable aspects of the role

💻 A laptop of your choice.

💗 Plenty of room to contribute, learn and grow. And above all, make a difference in the healthcare industry.

💡 Work with many developers across teams to integrate software with cutting-edge hardware designs.

🗓️ Hybrid work, at least 3 days p/w in Delft so you can easily create, test, and work on prototypes and products.

🎉 Hobby with electronics by writing software to make our current stuff better, while thinking along, initiating and building on new things.

These are your responsibilities

You will design, develop, and optimize firmware code for microcontrollers and devices used by caregivers and Momo’s production tigers.

  • Work on writing software for our current products, for new and improved products, all of which are integrated with each other.
  • Work on writing software for our production tools, such as calibration machine software, incoming testers, and automated inspection. You will play an important role in supporting the production team to scale assembly.
  • You maintain a growing number of devices (currently about 50,000) in the field and make sure they are all compatible and up-to-date.
  • You communicate with other teams about new developments and ask them what they need from you to make their work easier.

Who are you?

You get energy from building trustworthy software, decoding code, and structuring it. You have extensive experience with C, C++ and can think of better jokes than ChatGPT did with this one: “Why do embedded developers love C? Because it’s close to the metal, but not too close.” 🦾➕

  • Enjoy working in multidisciplinary development teams.
  • It is a requirement that you have worked with microcontrollers before, and it is a plus if it has been with ESP32s and if you have done some PCB design work.
  • An affinity for 3D design is nice to have
  • Strengths: flexible, proactive, able to gather and give feedback.
  • Available for at least 32 hours per week.

This is why you want to work at Momo

Because you want to make a difference in healthcare at both home and abroad. Because you are excited about a fast-growing scale-up where no two days are the same. And because you want to work with enthusiastic and talented international colleagues who all work hard to make healthcare a little bit better every day, and at the same time really enjoy lunch and (Friday) afternoon drinks together.

  • Make a difference for caregivers with an innovative solution
  • Opportunities for growth in the area you want, so if you want to become a team leader within the team, we are happy to train you and if you are the specialist, we like that too
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses, a pension plan, and 30 vacation days per year - including public holidays (celebrate Christmas, Eid Al-Fitr, or any other holiday of your choice!)
