Your role in the story

This role offers a hands-on technical leadership position within our IT infrastructure team. Unlike a traditional managerial role, this position requires deep technical expertise, with a strong focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud and on-premises infrastructure. You will ensure that our systems are robust, scalable, and secure while supporting mission-critical operations at sea and worldwide locations.

What you will be working on:

You will be at the forefront of transforming our IT infrastructure, leading Azure cloud migration projects, and ensuring the stability and security of our systems. Your focus will be on hands-on engineering, optimizing cloud operations, integrating DevOps methodologies, and mentoring a skilled team while navigating complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and Implement

• Take the lead in designing, deploying, and maintaining IT infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and related technologies.
• Drive Azure migration projects and manage cloud infrastructure efficiently.

Azure Cloud Operations

• Manage and optimize Azure resources, including VMs, storage, networking, and identity management.
• Implement and maintain Azure security configurations and ensure compliance.

DevOps & Automation

• Integrate DevOps practices to enhance development and deployment processes.
• Utilize Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate deployments and manage the infrastructure lifecycle.

Microsoft Intune & Device Management

• Oversee device management, configuration, and security policies via Microsoft Intune.
• Ensure Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Mobile Application Management (MAM) align with organizational policies.

Microsoft 365 Operations

• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, in collaboration with the applications team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 applications and services.

Hands-On Problem Solving

• Proactively troubleshoot infrastructure issues, optimize system performance, and ensure stability.

Technical Leadership & Agile Way of Working

• Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of 8 IT engineers, fostering skill development and best practices.
• Prioritize, coordinate, and organize tasks using an agile methodology.
• Act as a Product Owner, defining priorities and ensuring alignment with cloud migration goals.

Key ingredients for success

Education & Experience

• HBO degree in IT or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or a related technical role.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services and cloud migration.
• Strong background in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for device management.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and functionalities.

Technical Skills

• Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell).
• Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and IT compliance frameworks.
• Experience with containerization (Azure Container Instances, Azure Kubernetes Services, or Kubernetes).

Leadership & Agile Skills

• Ability to lead and mentor a team of IT engineers.
• Act as a change agent, defining and implementing cloud migration strategies while guiding the team in adopting new technologies.
• Experience with agile methodologies and scrum practices.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Azure, Microsoft 365, and/or Intune certifications.
