About the job

This role animates our Danone Impact Journey across our global Cycles & Procurement function with a specific focus on People & Communities and Human Rights in our value chain. It leads identification, risk mitigation and builds awareness in our sourcing organisation on Human Rights risks and compliance. It is therefore a central role in ensuring Danone acts and engages with suppliers and social systems in a positive way consistent with our value of Humanism.

Strategy & implementation

  • Strategy: Build and deliver a strategy and associated roadmap, tailored to each category and covering the scope of all of our direct and indirect procurement categories
  • Influences: Ensure alignment with frameworks like the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, legislations like EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, and internal ambition including our Danone Impact Journey and public targets set across full value chain
  • Execution: Manage deployment of ongoing Human Rights due diligence, relevant policies, and aspect of the program related to grievance mechanisms, remediation.
  • Alignment: Coordinate governance to ensure effective enhancements, road map delivery and relevant reporting

External & internal stakeholder engagement

  • Networks: Lead continuous strategic engagement with external stakeholders (NGOs, industry coalitions, external experts, etc.), together with the Global Human Rights, Public Affairs, & Responsible Sourcing teams, to understand latest trends, policies, to consolidate what is relevant for the business
  • Internal: Develop internal capacity building including communication, training materials and pragmatic implementation tools for internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Suppliers: Engage suppliers and contribute to coalition building when necessary and in coordination with the global Human Rights Team.
  • Alignment: Ensure that the overall Human Rights sustainable sourcing approach is streamlined and comprehensive for both internal and external audiences

About you

  • Degree level education or advanced training in a relevant subject, preferably sustainability, corporate affairs, international development, or strategy
  • +8-10 years’ practical experience (sustainable sourcing, due diligence, social sustainability, human rights in CPG industry preferred)
  • Understanding and implementing global sustainability legislation and policies in business context that incorporates rightsholders’ views
  • Communication skills to articulate a point of view, and successfully leverage data to drive business decisions.
  • Demonstrate results-oriented project management capabilities with excellent written and verbal communication style
  • Ability to deliver change management and impact in a global organisation
