Introduction to the job

As a process engineer new product introductions (NPI) logistics you will make sure all logistics requirements regarding NPI are secured. You take the lead and see the big picture without missing the important details and are capable to execute complex projects and enable logistics and factories to produce new products in Volume within 5 pilot systems or less.

Role and responsibilities

The process engineer NPI logistics is the logistics representative in cross-sector product project teams and guards the logistical quality and costs of a new product introduction. In this role you will work closely with all ASML sectors, different programs and various departments within ASML factories worldwide.

Next to this role you will also support the Control Tower with analytical assignments and are responsible to collect, generate, analyze and discuss the required data and predict and prevent Control Tower related challenges. Based on this data, you drive improvements in the value chain.

As a process engineer NPI logistics you will;

  • Define, validate and maintain requirements from the Logistics Operation in the Product Generation Process (PGP) toward the Product Teams
  • Represent the Logistics department in cross sector product teams
  • Align requirements with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure on-time delivery and quality of the required infrastructure, systems, parts, tools, routings, procedures and work instructions to be able to run logistics operations as required before NPI systems turn to Volume
  • Manage the workload, set priorities and assure timely and correct execution of all department tasks
  • Drive the issue resolution process
  • Provide input for relevant Key Decisions (KD) and advise on Go/No-go decisions
  • Report out on the new product introduction Key Decisions towards the MfS LO staff
  • Design of logistics processes and systems
  • Implementation of logistics solutions, including supplier selection and training of employees
  • Optimalisation of logistics processes by analyzing processes and initiate improvements
  • Driving the structural improvement program within Operational Logistics in general

As a process engineer NPI logistics you will report directly to the Group Lead Logistics Engineering within the Logistics Operation.

As part of the Logistics Engineering team, this role is positioned within the Control Tower, which drives improvements and enables and steers the Logistics Operations to provide excellent services to our customers - now and in the future –cross-department. Furthermore, the Control Tower is the responsible team for predicting performance and capacity needs, preventing stagnations and preparing for the future.

Education and experience

As a process engineer NPI logistics, you will need:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in business engineering, business administration, industrial engineering, operational management or logistics
  • Experience in new product introduction and continuous improvement processes in a logistics environment
  • At least 3 years’ experience in operational logistics & engineering, preferably in a high-tech, low-volume assembly environment
  • Project, Program and Portfolio management knowledge and experience
  • Project management certification
  • Hands-on experience with continuous improvements based on lean principles and effective change management
  • Track record of leading process improvement projects
  • Experience with SAP-ECC/EWM, their Master data set-up and application is desired
