Future engineering is a new department within the Danone’s engineering community that will define the manufacturing of the future and land new concepts and ways of working within the supply chain. For this new department we will be hiring a Novel Process Manager. This position will be on the mast to effectively land new process technology in our supply chain. The Novel Process Manager will work globally in all the categories of Danone product portfolio, being Dairy, Special Nutrition, Plant based products and Water. New categories may also be part of the scope. This will be a global job and will be based in Danone Amsterdam (DPA) or Danone Paris (DPP). Frequent travel will be required to the locations (global) to ensure a close collaboration with the production sites to understand their challenges and how to land new technology and manufacturing in harmony with daily operational activities.

The location will be most flexible and allows hybrid and remote working, but the candidate needs to be a resident of the Netherlands or France.

Key responsibilities :

The new novel process manager will have the following key responsibilities:

• Be the subject matter expert on novel processing (liquid and dry) with a strong vision of the future
• Raise the bar on process capabilities to improve and unlock new business results
• Stay updated with new production processes and understand existing processes and the related current manufacturing challenges.
• Lead the process platform to foster innovation and guide process engineers.
• Serve as the primary contact for novel process technology, maintaining a global network both internally and externally.
• Oversee the implementation of new technology and designs.
• Collaborate with other functions within Danone and beyond to design the factory of the future
• Conduct trials at suppliers or manufacturing locations and proof of concept
• Develop integrated plans and/or projects to land new technology effectively
• Be the focal point for external partnerships in the field of processing.
• Create business cases that are relevant to Danone’s future.

About you

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Food Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar field.
• Relevant experience in food process engineering or a related field.
• Experience with safety in designs, such as CE, PED and ATEX.
• Experience with GMP’s and food safety regulations
• Experience in design of experiments (DoE)
• Strong experience in sterilization and/or pasteurization processes
• Experienced with aseptic processing and filling
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Flexibility to travel frequently to production sites and work with different time zones (30-40% travel per year). Longer stays in a certain location might be required.
• Ability to work and adapt to different cultures and ways of working
