FrieslandCampina has a significant contribution to the worldwide market of ingredients for Performance, Active Nutrition. You will have an important role in creating high protein bar applications for Sport and Active nutrition with our broad portfolio of ingredients. In this way, you will support growth and strengthening of relationships with our customers in the fast-paced Performance and Active nutrition market.

Highlights:

• You are responsible for the development of high protein bars with the broad portfolio of FCI products.
• You work closely with regional and global Technical Sales Specialists (TSS)- and Sales colleagues to provide our customers with applications fulfilling their requirements.
• You work closely with Marketing and Ingredient experts on designing new combination of ingredients for specific types of bar application.
• You are responsible for generating knowledge on our ingredients in the bar application and appropriate internal and external training for all the regions regarding your area of expertise.

Wat we vragen

• You must have significant documented applied experience in formulation of high protein bars (minimum 5 years).
• You should have a sound technical background with practical experience in the area of Food Technology / Product Development, and preferably technical knowhow on Adult Nutrition and/or its ingredients (GOS, DHA, dairy proteins, hydrolysates, etc.) with a minimum of post-secondary education: HBO.
• You should enjoy practical work and learning new things, in a fast-paced commercial environment, which requires proactivity, creativity and relation building abilities (TSS, marketing, product development, sales, supply chain, QA, and customers).
• Knowledge about confectionary is highly desirable.

You are expected to be an authority in practical knowledge about high protein bars. Keep up with relevant developments in own area of expertise and stay in close collaboration with relevant experts. Contribute to the field by developing new, state of the art applied knowledge, exchange knowledge with other professionals, as well as develop and maintain own network. Have sufficient knowledge about broad portfolio of ingredients to be able to use it in the applications of expertise. Serve as source of applied knowledge for the regional TSS & application teams. You will be responsible for the execution of the Application Roadmap for high protein bars and help in the development of the Technical Framework.

1. Influence and execute innovation roadmap:

• Execute Application roadmaps (including input from regions) in collaboration with relevant Ingredient Expert.
• Scout for new application technology/ partners etc.
• Support relevant clinical studies with products.
• Work on NPD projects to develop proof of principle applications for the new ingredients and provide input for new product development.
• Help land new innovations or existing ingredient(s) in the market by providing, training and support for the regional of Regional Application Support Technologists and TSS, while involving other relevant disciplines where needed.
• Responsible for carrying out of practical work necessary to define the Technical Framework for an ingredient.

2. Customer relation management:

• Provides support for more technologically complex application work from regions via responsible regional TSS/Application Support.
• Carries out the most complex projects (including co-development or development at customer site) with most important customers.

3. Knowledge Management:

• Is responsible for global applied knowledge on specific application type (high protein bars).
• Assures appropriate internal and external training for all the regions regarding their area of expertise.
• Ensures such insights are made available and actionable to the broader organization by properly using existing tools (e.g. SalesForce) and initiate new ones if needed (e.g. for new application).

You are part of a professional team of about 80 R&D colleagues. Within this larger team you work in an international team of Technical Sales Specialists and Application Developers, who work on the different ingredients we offer.

Your position is located at the Innovation Center in Wageningen, but you will also work often in our office in Amersfoort to cooperate with our Sales and Marketing colleagues. Additionally, you may be required to go for customer visits whenever necessary.
