In a nutshell

At Picnic, we use React Native to provide an innovative service to our customers through our mobile app. Quality is our top priority, so we use TypeScript in our server-driven UI framework as well as our frontend code.

In this role, in addition to working with React Native daily you'll be working with our powerful server-driven UI framework that's at the heart of our business's success:

• Powers our entire shopping app and enables rapid iterations
• Drives sophisticated personalization at scale, delivering tailored content to each user
• Empowers our business teams to operate the store autonomously - dozens of operators and analysts make every day real-time updates without any further tech involvement

You can expect to work with a wide range of technologies within the JavaScript ecosystem, across the full stack!

What you'll do

Contribution: Work on our customer facing Picnic store, implementing new features on a daily basis Mastery: Contribute to our React Native architecture and server-driven UI framework, with a focus on developer experience, performance optimization, and establishing best practices for scalable development Collaboration: Collaborate with designers and product owners to create specifications for new features Impact: Build out our backend-driven UI framework (developed in React Native) and transition existing functionalities from native to React Native whenever possible Communication: Leverage your communication skills in a cross-functional team, including to mentor our amazing team of mobile engineers Our Tech: TypeScript and RxJS, React Native, Redux, Styled Components, Jest, Storybook

We’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years in full-time software development, of which 3+ in TypeScript, React, or React Native
• Experience in shipping high-traffic applications
• A willingness and desire to work with a variety of technologies
• Hands-on experience with (unit) testing
• A problem-solving mindset
• The confidence to transform high-level business requirements into a technical plan
• Experience working in a product-based company
• The ability to coach fellow developers using a structured communication style
