You and your job

As an Origination & Syndication/Private Placements officer, you can make a difference by working collaboratively (Deal Teams) to accomplish and execute the daily tasks while gaining an understanding of the “big picture” and adhering to established quality control and procedures. The areas of support cover the processes of New Issues, Bond and Equity Listings, Private Placements (administration of Loans), Reimbursements, Client Contacts (internal and external), and to all products related and arising life cycle events. Our team is situated within Operations W&R Financial Markets Services, and we support desks within Markets and Treasury (London and Utrecht).

Practical Examples

• Handling tasks that are highly complex, labour-intensive, and bespoke (tailor-made) you need to have the ability to switch quickly between the various tasks, where straight-through processing is not possible.
• Process and support the structuring of complex transactions like New Issues, Listings of Bonds and Equities, Private Placements (Social Loans), Reimbursements, After Care in various markets;
• Dealing with the pressure of solving complex problems in a demanding environment
• Investigate and respond to inquiries from internal business groups, agents/custodian, brokers, external clients, Law Firms and other counterparties;

Top 3 responsibilities

• Execute processes and controls in accordance with procedures, work instructions and policies;
• Escalate effectively whilst dealing with bottlenecks, knowledge or barriers
• Liaising within own team and internal/external stakeholders to ensure quality and productivity levels

The majority of the tasks performed by us belong in a middle office environment, in order to act as the focal point and sparring partner between the various parties and departments. We are focused on continuous improvement and we adapt easily and quickly to new circumstances. Each deal requires a long preparation and throughput time.

The department, part of Securities Processing performs settlements and other processing activities and informs its internal and external clients about their operations on the financial markets.

The 5 people in Private Placements & Origination Syndication team are primarily involved in pre-trade processes, such as preparation, coordination, drafting, reviewing, and safekeeping of legal documentation before products are launched into the market.

You and your talent

• Customer focus, operational discipline, risk awareness, vigilance and accountability are clearly essential for the role of Transaction Processing officer.
• HBO degree (or higher) with 3-5 years of work experience in similar environment
• Dutch native speaker and fluent in English (verbal and writing);
• Affinity with legal issues
• Strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Team player with flexible skills;
• Understands complex process chains, front to back (is an advantage);
• Extensive knowledge of Financial Markets Products and processes in (wholesale) banking;
