What will you be doing?

The Compensation & Benefits Specialist is responsible for local management of Benefit & Reward programs and policies, as well as complex query resolution. The C&B specialist possesses knowledge of the Dutch market and labor law and is able to translate this into relevant policies and procedure. Vanderlande operates within a global framework, in this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to Global Reward initiatives and support in embedding and implementing the outcome in the organizations in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of (local) Compensation & Benefits processes
  • Responsible for acting as an escalation point for employee enquiries
  • Driving the local implementation of global rewards programs (e.g. Merit plans, Short/Long Term Incentive Plans)
  • Playing a pivotal role in collaborating with the Dutch Works Council to ensure that employee compensation and benefits packages are fair, competitive, and compliant with Dutch labor laws. Maintain existing policies for our Company Handbook, and initiate proposals for new policies to ensure continued compliance with the Dutch labor law.
  • Collaborating with the People Services Leads to understand and implement processes, focusing on employee experience and the continuous improvement of compensation & benefits processes.
  • Responsible for preparing and presenting detailed reports on compensation structures, benefits programs, and any proposed changes to the Works Council.
  • Engaging in regular consultations with the Works Council to address their concerns, gather feedback, and negotiate terms that align with both company policies and employee expectations.
  • Identify service issues, proactively proposing improvements and leading or supporting the implementation of changes
  • Partner with the Global Rewards team to share (local) business demands/developments and to ensure alignment on policies and programs
  • Be part of the Capability Expert Communities to bring in the functional perspective in the overall maintenance and improvement of the HR Capabilities

What do we ask from you?

For the role of Compensation & Benefits Specialist, we ask that you bring:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in HR/Business
  • 3-5 years of C&B expertise
  • Experience in designing, optimizing, and implementing local Benefits & Reward Policies, within a global framework
  • Deep knowledge of local legal and tax frameworks and best practices in the region
  • Experience in collaborating with a Dutch Works Council.
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Basic project management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively on different levels of the organization.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English.

This position offers a competitive salary range of €4.500,00 to €6.200,00 per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale. On top of your fixed salary you’ll receive the following secondary benefits:
