Thanks to our Shoppers and Runners, all Picnic customers can have their food delivered on time. They are extremely valuable to the entire Picnic supply chain, without them our business could not continue to run smoothly.

As our Senior Payroll Specialist you will be co-responsible for the four-weekly payroll of the entire company and will take over the communication with our payroll provider. You will work with various internal and external stakeholders and be part of the finance team. However, we are on a journey to constantly scale our business and running a smooth payroll is critical, this means that besides the recurring payroll activities you’ll get involved in various improvement processes, such as further integrating our software with third-party providers, participating in the year-end audit, and performing ad-hoc analysis together with the People team.

🎯 What you’ll do

• Review, approve and control four-weekly salary payments
• Continuously develop our payment process, including participating in tech initiatives to develop a (home grown) system solution that scales like Picnic
• Prepare and execute payroll accounting for a defined group of employees
• Maintain and track all changes that may lead to a change in payments, e.g., employees leaving
• Take responsibility for all other aspects of payroll and care for our employees, such as pension registration, assuring timely sick pay, and coordinating social security communication with UWV
• Manage numerous stakeholders both inside and outside Picnic in the payment process

⭐ About you

• Very good knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheet (VBA and/or JavaScript knowledge is a plus)
• 4-5 years of experience in payroll, payments, HR, or Finance
• Initial experience with an HCM system is advantageous
• A very responsible and accurate way of working
• Ability to effectively set priorities and communicate payment progress
• Fluent in Dutch and English
