Account Manager - Hard Discount/Non-Food Retail

We are looking for a high-caliber commercial talent to join the Hard Discount (HD)/Non-Food Retail (NFR) team. As an Account Manager within the team, you will build and manage part of the Non-Food Retail (NFR) channel in NL, excluding Action. Your responsibilities will include managing existing NFR customers like AS Watson, Brandmasters, ACG, Budgetfood, and UFGB sustainably, as well as driving expansion with new opportunities in NFR with B&S, SussWarenFabrik, and others.

Next to NFR, you will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities for Quaker across channels and customers of OT, HD/NFR, AFH, and e-Commerce in NL. This involves hunting for new business opportunities in whitespace areas for Quaker, developing leads with customer requirements, and working closely with the respective Account Managers and cross-functional Quaker team members for feasibility and final closure.

In this role, you will develop an end-to-end commercial experience with Quaker, focusing on selling skills for other NFR customers. The role will directly report to the Sr Sales Manager HD/NFR and Commercial Lead Quaker, who leads overall channel development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver AOP targets for your customers and contribute to total HD/NFR AOP targets.
  • Manage and expand business with AS Watson, Brandmasters, ACG, Budgetfood, and UFGB.
  • Actively seek new business/customers with Quaker.
  • Support commercialization projects for NFR/HD.

Qualifications

  • Hunter selling profile; comfortable with operating in an agile environment.
  • Strong entrepreneurial drive and hands-on mentality.
  • Good basic negotiation skills – keen to negotiate/learn to negotiate.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Solid commercial capabilities (customer-facing skills, time management).
  • Independent, result-oriented, proactive, ambitious, and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Solid understanding of category management concepts and principles.
  • Good understanding of the customer, category, and the shopper.
  • Excellent communication skills both internally and towards the customer.
  • Ability to smoothly operate and navigate in a digital/hybrid work environment.
  • Fluent in Dutch & English, spoken and written.
University Degree/Academic level in business administration/business economics required.
