About Us

Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels (OSV) offers a range of innovative, mainly Engineered to Order (ETO) vessels, fulfilling current and developing market demands with well-balanced levels of quality, service, price, and delivery time, thereby providing optimal solutions for our clients. Our goal is to develop, design, and construct maritime projects for various markets such as defense & security, public transport, offshore, and dredging.

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, communicative Assistant Project Manager for our OSV Project Management Department. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be a crucial part of the project team, supporting the management of projects and contributing to the timely realization of vessels, often built at international production locations. You will ensure on-time delivery, within budget, and in accordance with quality specifications set by stakeholders. This role is based in our head office in Gorinchem.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in kicking off projects, determine the scope of work, and draw up project plans and deliverables in collaboration with the Project Team.
  • Monitor progress of engineering, deliverables of supply chain, and production to ensure timely delivery of vessels to our customers.
  • Identify project risks and determine mitigation actions.
  • Inform stakeholders regularly on project status regarding timing, quality, risks, costs, and contractual requirements.
  • Manage disturbances in the process that might impact time, quality, and costs.
  • Deliver vessels to clients, fulfilling contractual requirements and handing over the project to our Services department for the warranty phase.
  • Follow up during the warranty phase to ensure feedback for product improvement.
  • Improve processes and products at design and detail level in relation to engineering, construction, and procurement, reducing failure costs and improving quality.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master preferably in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Technology, or Electrical and Automation.
  • Ability to set priorities, take a process-centered approach, and maintain an overview.
  • Organizational skills, quality-conscious focus, and a flexible and customer-oriented personality.
  • Team player able to oversee project red lines and socially skilled, motivating the team to excel.
  • Result-oriented with a keen eye for organizational sensitivity.
  • Communicative with all levels from production to executive level.
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written) in both Dutch and English.
