At Perfetti van Melle, we are moving towards a more data-driven way of working. For this reason, we are looking for a Product Owner Commercial Data Lake to support this transformation for the period of one year.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Data Lake Project Product Owner is a critical role within the Global Commercial Insights department. The primary responsibility is to represent the department's needs and priorities within the development, implementation, and adoption of a Commercial Data Lake (CDL) project to support various aspects of business performance management (BPM), revenue growth management (RGM), route-to-market (RTM), and media analytics.

The role will be fully embedded into CDL scrum teams and will ensure teams are focused on the right activities by creating a product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities. The Product Owner will communicate with stakeholders throughout the project. The Product Owner will collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals. The role will then work closely with sponsors, CoE’s, and business teams to create and maintain the product backlog according to business value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organization (global, regional, and local markets) to refine requirements, gather input, and develop insights and analytics tools that address their specific needs in BPM, RGM, RTM, and media analytics
  • Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they’re clearly understood by relevant teams
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy
  • Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals
  • Lead the product-release plans and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
  • Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions across the organization
  • Utilize data from the Data Lake to develop dashboards and PowerPoint reporting which facilitates actionable insights, and advanced analytics that enable data-driven decision-making and inform commercial strategies in key domain areas
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, data scientists, domain owners (RGM, RTM, Media leads) and IT professionals to ensure the successful implementation of data solutions
  • Collaborate with change management efforts to ensure the organization is prepared to embrace data-driven decision-making and insights
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy within the Data Lake, implementing appropriate quality control measures
  • Monitor and assess the impact of data-driven initiatives on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project ROI and business impact

You will be part of our Commercial Insights team, part of our Group Commercial team, and you will work with IT colleagues on a daily basis.

You are experienced in bridging between commercial, IT, and consultancy roles and you easily communicate with different stakeholders, never losing sight of the end goals. You are a natural goal-getter, you keep the overview, set priorities, and have excellent project management skills. You know your way across Agile ways of working because this is how we do it at Perfetti van Melle. Your experience in data projects allows Perfetti to move forward even quicker with you on board. Furthermore, you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Scrum/agile certifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of an FMCG environment
