Principal Frontend Software Engineer

As the Principal Frontend Software Engineer, you will have a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction and architecture of Eneco’s digital platform eneco.nl. You will lead strategic initiatives, drive cross-platform and cross-team projects, and serve as an ambassador of frontend innovation within the organization. Your technical expertise will be crucial in making high-impact decisions that align with our business objectives and ensure the scalability and robustness of our frontend architecture. Reporting to the Squad Lead, you will also play a key role in mentoring and developing the frontend team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership and Architecture: Define and influence the frontend architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability, with a strong focus on micro frontend strategies.
• Strategic Initiatives: Lead and drive cross-platform and cross-team projects, ensuring technical excellence and innovation in all deliverables.
• Collaboration and Mentorship: Work closely with the Squad Lead and other team members to mentor and develop the frontend team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Innovation Ambassador: Act as a champion of new technologies and methodologies, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in frontend development.
• Technical Decision-Making: Make key technical decisions that impact the platform, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Node.js, and NPM.
• Deep understanding of micro frontend architectures (e.g., Single SPA, Module Federation, Web Components).
• Proven track record of building and deploying scalable micro frontends using Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• In-depth expertise in the Sitecore or other CRM platform and its integration capabilities.
• Strong leadership experience in driving strategic technical initiatives and mentoring development teams.

As part of the frontend team, you will work closely with a group of highly skilled developers, designers, and product owners. Reporting to the Squad Lead, you’ll have a significant influence on the technical direction of our projects, driving innovation and excellence. Your role will not only involve making critical architectural decisions but also mentoring and guiding the team to achieve the highest standards in frontend development. You'll be at the core of cross-team collaborations, ensuring our digital solutions are cutting-edge and contribute meaningfully to Eneco’s mission of a sustainable future.
