Social Campaign Specialist

As a Social Campaign Specialist, you direct online campaigns in the Netherlands, Greece, and Belgium from a central AdOps team for our local brands (Bol, Delhaize, Gall & Gall, Alfa Beta & Albert Heijn). A challenging role that requires a lot of personal input and offers considerable freedom.

Your New Work Environment

As a Social Advertising Specialist, you will be joining our Retail Media department. Ahold Delhaize has recognized that Retail Media, also called The 3rd Wave (after Search and social media), is an opportunity.

We started with retail media in Europe 10 years ago at Albert Heijn. Since then, we have seen continuous double-digit growth in the Benelux, driven by Albert Heijn Media Services (AHMS) and Bol.com Retail Media (BRM). Both are considered pioneers in retail media, with an innovative edge and an impressive collection of first-party data.

In 2023 Ahold Delhaize started Ad Retail Media as a new entity/department within Ahold Delhaize Europe to help accelerate the growth in retail media of AH, Bol & Delhaize. This department focuses on selling advertising space to non-endemic advertisers (companies that aren’t a supplier of our brands) and implementing a cookies-less extended reach proposition. Additionally, we operate as an operations hub for our local brands. You will work in this department and play a pivotal role in building a future-proof retail media ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up exceptional and impactful social, video, display, and DOOH campaigns with first-party data; define deliverables, scope, timelines, and milestones with the client. Serve as the go-to person for the client and internal stakeholders and regularly present results and progress.
  • Monitor performance on different media channels, managing campaigns from A to Z, from design to evaluation. Perform A/B testing, analyze and evaluate, use learnings to develop more effective campaigns, and share insights with colleagues.
  • Claim ownership of projects within the digital domain, focusing on socials. Work on projects like responding to the cookie-free world and the rise of social media as an e-commerce platform.

Requirements

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:

  • At least 2 years of social experience and eagerness to discover Display and DOOH advertising with us.
  • Background in Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and other social platforms like Pinterest, first-party data, and data-driven working are a plus.
  • Knowledge of Python & SQL or eagerness to learn.
  • Fluency in the Dutch language is a must.

Aside from these hard skills, you should bring much-valued soft skills to the table: outspoken communication skills and a proactive approach. Enthusiasm and a great sense of responsibility will take you far.
