We’re looking for a Service Manager Emerging Business Activation to join in London Liberty Global is the largest international cable company, with a focus on driving both strong organic growth and opportunistic M&A activity. The Senior Manager role within the Emerging Business Activation Team is an exciting opportunity to join a highly dynamic organisation, with direct exposure to senior management whilst being part of a wider corporate group executing Liberty Global’s strategy. Focusing on activating new growth opportunities, lifting and shifting new revenue sources, and managing the team that ensures all financial and strategic aspects of ongoing EBA projects, the role will entail gaining a clear understanding of dynamics that influence the performance of a continuously evolving organisation. The role offers a high degree of independence, supporting a team situated at the centre of Liberty Global’s corporate group. The Senior Manager will be a key constituent of the team required to prepare, present and debate high quality Group-level analysis with the senior management team. The role requires a unique combination of analytical know-how, and an entrepreneurial activation mind-set. Key Accountabilities Responsible for the end to end management of ventures built in the Sandbox and launch of products into market Responsible for ongoing management of Sandbox ventures, including iterations to ensure product is meeting consumers needs based on real time feedback i.e.: intimately understanding the consumer needs, marketplace, competitors, partners, and backend technology used in order to deliver the product to the market The phrase most commonly used is a ‘mini CEO’ who not only leads the team but is also hands on with tracking customer sentiment, ops, finance, technology builds and in most cases, vendor / partnership management Strong squad leadership to deliver daily / weekly outcomes (this includes running agile ceremonies e.g.: daily stand ups, working with the tech team to understand their development cycle, front end development and backlog prioritisation (continuous integration / continuous delivery) Proven track record in pipeline prirotisation, ensuring the most valuable task is actioned Work with the team to build a roadmap for delivery over the remainder of 2021, ability to proactively pivot / iterate plan as and where needed Provide strategic link into rest of the LG organisation for ad hoc strategic and investment opportunities (which may sit in outside of the Sandbox) Proven track record managing investors and governance meetings e.g.: ‘Project Home Run Governance Board’ Core skills: Lead a team and ‘do the work’ – this is not a corporate leadership role where your core focus is managing a team – this role will work both on the busines and in the business in a start-up environment Pivot / iterate plan based on real time feedback and data being received from the marketplace (core skill in continuous delivery / continuous improvement Financials against business case Technical – work with Plumes tech team to ensure the front-end development of the app represents and surfaces the Kin proposition as tested in the incubation phase Ability to work in ambiguous environment and still continue to drive forward Education, Knowledge & Experience University degree educated or similar Post-graduate degree, i.e. MBA, preferred Agile team leadership Good communicator, sense of diplomacy in dealing with people in multinational environment Product Management experience (Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery) People management experience (Squad leadership / Tribe leadership) Finance & Corporate Strategy acumen Creative problem solving in a complex environment Working in and with Start-ups / scale ups or within a corporate venture team Preferred Knowledge & Experience: Relevant experience in corporate finance/ strategy/ shared services environments Experience working in an agile environment, ideally with exposure to both D2C and SaaS Relentless focus on the customer with proven ability to use Human Centered Design methodologies What’s in it for you?
