SIM Product Specialist

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

As a Barclays SIM Product Specialist, you will work closely with the Head of Specialist Investment Management (HSIM) and the Senior Portfolio Managers (SPM) on coordinating the delivery of the SIM strategies and proposition to internal and external stakeholders. You will become an internal and external product champion, assisting bankers and Investment Advisors in client and prospect meetings and offering technical expertise and investment knowledge of SIM equity and fixed income strategies.

What will you be doing?

Representing SPM (Senior Portfolio Managers) to bankers and Investment Advisors when appropriate and articulating investment decisions to relevant audience when required

Comprehending and explaining portfolio performance i.e. outlining specific drivers of the portfolio’s performance over a specific time period

Reviewing and suggesting enhancement/changes to investment decks and pitch books

Working with HSIM (Head of Specialist Investment Management) and SPMs to ensure consistency of presentational materials and their compliance with internal procedures

Proposing and developing communication initiatives upon agreement with key stakeholders

Ensuring quality and timeliness of specific month end reporting to clients, ensuring their accuracy and suitable deadlines are met

Supporting bankers and Investment Advisors in client and prospect meetings by representing the SPM, offering technical expertise and investment knowledge

Facilitating/coordinating responses to client requests

What we’re looking for:

Experience of portfolio analytics e.g. Bloomberg, PORT with advanced Excel, PPT skills

Good knowledge of financial markets instruments, portfolio construction, risk management as well as interest in fixed income and equity markets (but not limited)

Excellent attention to detail and goo communication skills due to requirement to liaise across multiple internal teams internationally and with clients

Skills that will help you in the role:

Postgraduate programs in finance and/or MBA, CFA or IMC
