As a Barclays Associate Banker- Corporate Banking, you will be developing and maintaining relationships within multi-national Dutch corporate clients as well as locally based subsidiaries of global organisations headquartered out with the Netherlands. You will be assisting Relationship Directors with product knowledge, sales research, and customer relationship development, and research into solutions to meet customers’ needs using market and industry information and risk management for the portfolio. What will you be doing?
Acting as first point of contact for clients along with the Relationship Director, co-ordinating introductions to and from other areas of the Barclays Group
Generating and monitoring leads, preparing pricing, and assisting with credit applications Assisting with the development of, and revisions to the Client Relationship plan
Leading the onboarding process for new clients or new products to existing clients, ensuring that new/existing clients and products are set up on relevant systems
Identifying and researching potential new customers and maintaining a database, preparing client meetings presentations, engaging product specialists
Assisting with annual client reviews and making recommendations to Relationship Directors and improving customer sales and service
Preparing client meeting presentations, engaging product specialists in Ireland/ Europe and other areas of the group ensuring a robust contact strategy is in place
Ensuring compliance with mandatory Risk policies and procedures relating to governance, regulatory compliance (including Financial Crime), operational and legal risk
Building effective working partnerships with internal support functions, including Credit, Legal, KYC, Compliance, assisting with implementation of projects like complex cash management, FX and debt
What we’re looking for:
Experience within financial services with a some understanding of Insurance companies, Private Equity, Asset Managers and Corporate Specialist Solutions
Knowledge of Corporate Banking products, Debt, Credit Analysis and risk management, KYC, Due Diligence
Fluency in English is required, Dutch is highly preferred
Sound knowledge of banking, and operational procedures, cash management, liquidity management, debt and working capital, trade, DCM and FX
Skills that will help you in the role:
Ability to build relationships and stakeholder management
Ability to work within a small, but ambitious local team where flexibility and adaptability are key qualities
Excellent time-management, self-planning, and organizational skills as well as excellent presentation skills and social skills and IT Skills (Microsoft standard packages)
Experience in Customer Due Diligence procedures, awareness of Financial Crime policy and procedures
Where will you be working?
You will be based in our Amsterdam office which is the Head Office for our Investment Banking businesses in the Netherlands. The office has good access to transport links and is easily accessible by car.
