Associate Director Large Corporate Lending

As a Barclays Associate Director - Large Corporate Lending, you will work within the Corporate Bank supporting Structuring Directors/Vice Presidents (VP), Relationship Directors and Product Partners in the origination, structuring and execution of UK mid-large market debt finance deals. This is an exciting role as it is not industry specific and will allow you to work across a number of different industries that the bank works with.

What will you be doing?

Engaging with Structuring Directors/VPs and Relationship Directors to undertake business analysis (including financial modelling)

Working alongside the Coverage teams on material transactions for clients; understanding client needs and then contributing to proposed solutions

Using expertise of deal structuring and judgement of the credit profile in relation to our sector appetite and to influence debt structures

Working closely with the Transaction Management (and where relevant Syndicate) teams to enable delivery of Barclays debt proposal for the client

Gathering the right level of financial information from the client and extract the information to generate and comprehend the key financial ratios

Supporting construction of forecast financial models and suitable sensitivities to support lending decision

Providing high quality, balanced credit analysis, financial modelling and credit report writing within risk appetite with a view to obtaining credit approval

Attending site visits/client meetings as required, to ensure thorough understanding of company and lending proposition

What we’re looking for:

Analytical and numerical skills; experience in analysis of business, market and sector performance and credit risk analysis

Awareness of different sources of corporate funding and the macro-economic factors affecting debt markets

Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation skills

Lending experience within a financial institution

Skills that will help you in the role:

Good knowledge of Standards, Policies and Procedures

Awareness of Legislation affecting the Banking Industry

Higher education degree or suitable professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, AMCT, CFA)

In the centre of Spinningfields, Hardman Street is right in the centre of the best of Manchester’s professional business network. A multi divisional space with Corporate, Wealth, Premier and Digital colleagues, the offices include a client suite for meetings for up to 100 people, but are equally intimate for smaller meetings. Set in the heart of the cities gyms , bars, restaurants and shopping, Barclays offices are a real benefit to its 300 staff and an attractive venue for clients.Barclays Snowhill is at the heart of the professional district and commands a workforce of around 1000. With great transport links to Birmingham Grand Central and Snowhill train stations as well as the local metro. Our office has a dedicated staff coffee shop and deli and break out areas for staff. There is also a presentation theatre for client and staff events. Our office boasts a great working environment as well as opportunities to network across the city.
