Be part of the sustainability transition of our customers by joining the young and fast-growing Sustainability Risk, Reporting and Regulations team (RRR) within the Corporate Banking of ABN AMRO in Amsterdam. RRR has a central position within the organisation between internal/external stakeholders and the business. You have a University master’s degree and strong demonstrable affinity with RISK MANAGEMENT and SUSTAINABILITY. And a minimum of 3 year experience in Risk topics combined with Business/Sustainability/Risk Management/Data processes, including knowledge of data models, regulations related to model framework and Credit Risk knowledge. Finally, you want to develop yourself within the field of Sustainability in a constantly changing environment and be part of a young, ambitious team.

Your job

You will support Corporate Banking in the development of the new Climate and Environmental-related Shadow Probability of Default- Credit Risk model for the CB Main Bank portfolio. Also, you will help in the interpretation and application of ABN AMRO’s Risk Management framework in the area of ESG for CB and translate this into business requirements.

Your main activities will revolve around being the main stakeholder to the various parties that are involved in the implementation of this new model. For example, coordinating and providing input to Model Risk Management and fostering good cooperation with other data departments, while ensuring that the interests of the CB Client Unit are also guaranteed.

In order to properly execute this role, you will need to understand both internal data and new client data which needs to be sourced and collected. In addition, you might also provide occasional support to other activities of the Risk management cycle such as Risk Identification (CER Heatmaps), Risk Monitoring (Climate scenario analysis), Risk Assessment (CER climate stress tests) and various pilots. It is a job which requires also good stakeholder management, good coordinating skills, but also the ability to have valuable content discussions and understand quantitative frameworks, and their application within the bank.

Working environment

You will become part of the young and fast growing Risk, Reporting and Regulations team (RRR) of 20 team members within the client focused Corporate Banking's (CB) Sustainability Expertise Team (SET). RRR has a central position within the organisation between internal/external stakeholders and the business. The team has priorities on: 1. a continuous, timely reporting on correct sustainability data and KPI's, 2. sustainability advisory on risks and regulations towards management, corporate bankers and customers, 3. integrating sustainability in risk management and 4. co-facilitating the growth of the sustainable finance portfolio in the business. Additionally training of the business and the implementation of various ESG regulations are important activities of the team. You will experience an open culture, where self-initiative, responsibility, flexibility are being valued, self-development is being stimulated and humour is appreciated. Finally, the team is highly motivated to help our customers make the sustainable shift as soon as possible towards being compliant with Sustainable Regulatory and be in control of Sustainable Risks.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with strong demonstrable affinity with Risk Management and SUSTAINABILITY:

  • Education - University Masters Degree (Sustainability - Information Science - Economics, Finance ) or comparable level
  • Experience – three to five years of experience in quantitative topics combined with Business/Sustainability/Risk Management/Finance processes, including knowledge of model frameworks and regulations
  • Knowledge - Good understanding of financial institutions, sustainability regulations and risk management and knowledge on banking products, systems, work processes, data management.
  • Skills - Proactive, flexible, positive attitude and be able to transform complex subject matter into logical and manageable process steps. Execution power and keen on improvements. Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
