We're looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an aspiring Junior Backend Engineer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of our crucial backend services that all play a vital role in keeping our 24/7 business functioning smoothly.
The internship
A customer starting a trip, a moped sharing his latest GPS coordinates, or a battery swapper that wants to unlock the battery compartment of an empty moped - all of these scenario's are handled by our backend.
During the 6 month internship Backend Engineer, you will learn how to contribute to these services by developing, maintaining and improving them. The aim of the internship is to prepare you to be a full-time backend engineer at Check. This is where you ambition should be.
This is what you'll learn
- Collaborate with developers to create new API routes for the client application used by our iOS and Android Check app
- Maintain and optimize our existing backend services for optimal user experience
- Enhance our fleet update processing service, which handles over 2.7 million live updates from all our street vehicles daily
- Brainstorm creative technical solutions with our experienced backend team
Requirements.
- HBO or university education in technology, computer science or similar
- 0-2 years of experience in an engineering position
- Experience with Python and PostgreSQLD
Details
The internship starts at September 1st, 2024 and runs 6 months. After evaluation, there's the potential offer to stat full-time at Check. You won't start your internship alone. Check is opening up three positions in the Product Team:
- Internship Backend Engineering
- Internship Frontend Engineering
- Internship BI Engineering
No Visa Sponsorship possible for this position
A valid work permit is required for this position. Visa sponsorship is not possible. Candidate is also required to currently be living in the Netherlands is this is not a remote position.
