Data Security Consultant

The work

As a Data Security Consultant at Accenture Security NL, you will advise our clients on how to secure their IT environments from a holistic perspective. Holistic in the sense that security consists of more than just the technology, but always relies on people and processes for success in keeping our client’s valuable data secure. Typically, that would look as follows;

• People: You are the linking pin between the business, IT, and the security department and you make sure that the security measures that are being implemented, are also understood by the business.
• Processes: Data Security have impact on existing security processes or might require new ones. You are able to define and discuss the processes required for efficient and effective security operations.
• Technology: Data Security relies on techniques such as data obfuscation, hashing, encryption, etc. You must be able to understand these techniques and their purpose. But please note that in this role, it is not expected of you to do hands-on command line engineering knowledge.
• Data Ownership: Client data is crucial for their business goals, the goals that we are trying to protect. You will drive security measures to protect this data and enable the business.

You will be part of the Data & AI Security team that delivers security value for large and complex organizations. You are expected to demonstrate consulting experience through strong communication skills that speak to a diverse field of stakeholders, from stakeholders involved in IT/security operations to stakeholders accountable for high-level security objectives. Typical activities that you perform at our clients include:

• Define and implement solutions in data security in order to secure structured and unstructured data;
• Ensure Data Security solutions are properly adopted in the clients environments by keeping perspective of the people and process aspects;
• Deliver Data security projects as part of a larger Accenture team;
• Assess organisations’ existing Data Security posture and maturity, propose and be able to manage recommendations.

Qualifications

Here's what you'll need

• Proven experience in the design and implementation of Data Security solutions or similar role with comparable skills;
• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Purview solution for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) (or equivalent) and at least one of the main areas of Data Security and their main market technologies:
• Discovery & Classification (Microsoft, Varonis, SailPoint, etc.);
• Data Anonymization (Microsoft, Thales, IBM, etc.);
• Data Encryption (Microsoft, Thales, Gemalto, etc.);
• Background in Risk Management/regulatory requirements for Data Security
• A Bachelor or Master’s degree, preferably related to Business IT or Security, such as Business Informatics, Computer Security, ICT & Business, Business Analytics, Data Science or equivalent;
• A team player that knows how to communicate in layman’s terms and who can analyse, advise on, and solve complex Data security challenges;
• Fluent in English and/or Dutch.

Bonus points if you have

• Security professional certification such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIPP or ISO 27001;
• Data Security related vendor certification(s).
