The opportunity

EY Strategy and Transactions provides services within the domain of mergers and acquisitions, private and public offerings, valuations, modelling, economic impact analysis, due diligence and financial consulting. Through our independent position with respect to lenders, investors, and investment bankers, our team of professionals is ideally placed to successfully support corporate transactions.

EY’s Strategy and Transactions service line has grown significantly in recent years. To support our ongoing growth and our ambitious plans for the future, we are now looking to strengthen our modelling team at Senior level.

You will be a part of our Valuation, Modelling and Economics in Istanbul and you will get the opportunity to work with major corporate clients and financial institutions; providing them with financial and operational modelling support and advice on a wide variety of strategy and transaction assignments, including:

• Investment and/or financial feasibility modelling
• Decision support modelling
• Resource modelling and optimisation
• Financial restructuring models
• Planning, budgeting and forecasting models

Attributes and skills required for success

• A strong academic background, including a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or other related field
• The ability to demonstrate intellectual rigour and commercial awareness, combined with first-class numeracy and analytical skills
• Approximately two – three years of previous experience of scoping, building and reviewing financial models; project finance; financial / debt advisory; corporate finance, strategic planning; financial reporting /audit or valuation
• Strong understanding of Excel and how it can be applied to corporate finance
• Strong knowledge and awareness of evolving data analytics tools and related software, including data visualization and database skills to connect data and deliver decision making solutions
• Excellent report writing, communication skills both oral and written in Turkish and English and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a diverse team, build effective relationships at all levels and handle multiple responsibilities

JOB DESCRIPTION

In your role as a Modelling Senior you will:

• Build financial and operational models, support execution of modelling projects and manage interactions with client management and senior members of the EY team
• Design, build and test integrated financial models incorporating operational, tax, accounting and financing aspects
• Prepare deliverables including reports, presentations and support discussions with the client
• Apply logical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to support resolution of issues
• Review financial models, arrive at conclusions and communicate these effectively to the client
• Communicate effectively with the engagement lead, the client, and the wider team in a concerted effort towards delivering work products of the highest standard
• Provide coaching to others, share your technical and other knowledge with your team
