Software Engineer

We are looking for multiple software engineering experts across various skill levels to support and lead software engineering projects, teams and development architecture for VIBES Core development team, based out of Veghel.

Our airport software solution, VIBES is evolving by exploiting the latest technology tools, techniques, and standards. The software and solutions that we create are at the heart of driving the equipment and processes within an airport baggage systems. What will you be doing?

As software engineering expert and member of the VIBES Core team, you will be responsible for the APIs and microservices architecture. Also supports DevOps to build, maintain a sustainable build pipeline.

You will support/develop/lead the process for a team implementing functionality for our Airport platform. In a scrum team of professionals your technical knowledge and competencies will be leading and will be the base for your discussions with the Product Owner and interaction with system architects. You lead by example by taking up lead development activities within the team.

The role plays a crucial part in modernizing a robust, and maintainable system for BHS that can accommodate the rapid addition of features in the product. As the company scales, your work will become a vital source of support to other product teams in the workstream.

Responsibilities

• Participate in software and system design and development for a complex product
• Lead/support/ guide your team by setting an example
• Create application designs and implement them
• Develop software, preferably with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Support testing and integration of software Components
• Collaborate within an Agile (Scrum or Kanban) team
• Actively participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement efforts.
• Handling our core stack consisting of: Java Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Keycloak, Gherkin (Specflow), Microservices

What do we ask from you?

• For Junior Engineer: 2+ years
• For Senior Engineer: 5 or more years of working experience in software engineering with specialization in JAVA
• Bachelors or Masters degree in IT or relevant studies
• Experience with refactoring and migrating technology projects
• Aligning the technical solutions with other software engineers
• Pro-active and solution-driven mindset
• Container based deployment (Docker, Kubernetes and Helm)
• Continuous integration, continuous delivery and DevOps

You'll stand out if you have experience with:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, JAVA
• Domain Driven Design (DDD)
• Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic stack experience
• Experiences in industrial domain (Emulation and simulation experience a +)
• Fluent in both oral and written English. Dutch is plus.

About the team

The VIBES Core development consist of Agile/Scrum teams. You will join the Veghel team, whilst other development teams are located in various development centers. You will be in a multi-disciplined team of developers, who work closely with our product owners and designers.

By joining our VIBES Core Development team, as software lead you will be working as a part of an international team developing and evolving core components that manage the entire baggage handling system such as planning, monitoring, interfaces and resource management.

We are hiring across various expertise levels. Therefore, the positions offer a competitive salary range of € 4000,- to € 5500,- gross per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance). Through exceeding performance expectations, you even have the possibility to grow outside this scale.
