This internship offers the opportunity to learn, grow, and leave your mark within one of the largest FMCG companies in the world.

As a Communications Intern, you’ll be at the heart of our transformation journey. You’ll be part of the Global Internal Communications team and will support employee engagement across our Rotterdam HQ and beyond, working on our corporate brand while interacting with all our iconic brands.

This is your opportunity to help shape how we communicate during a time of exciting change, while building your skills in storytelling, stakeholder and project management, and community building.

What makes this internship exciting?

  • Build your understanding of Internal Communications by supporting communication efforts during a period of impactful organizational change.
  • Support project and stakeholder management by assisting in the planning and execution of internal and external activities and events, engaging with cross-functional teams and many different stakeholder profiles.
  • Strengthen our community by contributing to initiatives that connect and inspire colleagues across our Rotterdam office. You will be in charge of our local channels, focused on narrowcasting and VivaEngage.
  • Create communication assets for internal campaigns and activations that reflect our evolving brand identity, including written texts and design/editing in Canva.
  • Contribute to building our corporate brand by creating content for Unilever’s social media platforms, helping to shape our voice and identity towards the outside world.

Key responsibilities

  • Support communication efforts during a period of impactful organizational change.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of internal and external activities and events.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams and a wide range of stakeholder profiles.
  • Manage local communication channels focused on narrowcasting and VivaEngage.
  • Create content and communication assets for internal campaigns and social media.

You’re the perfect fit if:

  • You’re available for 5 to 6 months starting August-September 2026.
  • You are enrolled (3rd or 4th year) in a Bachelor or Master’s, for example in communications, political science, or sustainability.
  • You have a demonstrated interest in business and sustainability, for example through study, additional classes around specific sustainability themes, or extra activities.
  • You are fluent in English, both oral and written.
  • You are eager and excited to learn.
  • You excel in communication.
  • You are proactive.
