About the role

Reckitt is looking for a Senior Buyer for upstream and sustainability management of paper and pulp-based packaging materials, reporting to the Procurement Manager. Based in Amsterdam, this role sits within Reckitt’s supply chain organization and is responsible for the procurement of commodities like Solid Box Board, Corrugated Paper, Viscose, and other paper and pulp-based products, while driving sustainability initiatives in this category. Your responsibilities

In summary, you'll:

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for commodities under scope.
• Monitor market conditions, offering procurement insights based on commodity trends and prices.
• Prepare monthly forecasts and reports incorporating market insights and trends.
• Negotiate contracts and terms of agreement with suppliers to ensure the best possible terms.
• Engage in supplier selection, focusing on optimal service, cost, and quality.
• Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders to drive various upstream paper projects.
• Ensure that all procurement activities comply with the procurement Operating Model and SOP.

The experience we're looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, science/engineering, supply chain, or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement.
• Experience with upstream projects or within paper or plastic packaging solutions.
• Good English communication skills, oral and written; a second language is a plus.
• Excellence in negotiation, coupled with sharp analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• A proactive nature, adept at balancing multiple tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and solid interpersonal skills for both internal teams and external partners.
• Proficiency with procurement systems and the MS Office Suite, enabling swift management of procurement activities.
