Summary

As a Senior Buyer, you will be the strategic owner of your supplier category. You identify, evaluate and develop suppliers based on long‑term business needs, market developments and QLTC performance. You secure supply continuity, drive cost optimization and ensure that your category supports Neways’ technology and growth ambitions.

You influence category strategy, lead negotiations at a senior level and shape strong supplier partnerships. With your experience, you proactively mitigate risks, improve supplier performance and collaborate closely with engineering, operations and corporate procurement to deliver sustainable results.

This is wat you bring to the team

• Bachelor working and thinking level, preferably with a background in procurement, logistics or business administration (e.g. NEVI I; NEVIE II)
• At least 3–5 years of relevant purchasing experience, ideally in a technical or electronics manufacturing environment
• Strong skills in negotiation, stakeholder management and supplier relationship management
• Proven ability to analyze market dynamics, manage risks and translate strategy into concrete results
• Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution power
• Proactive, result‑driven and confident in taking ownership
• Excellent command of English; Dutch is a strong advantage

Your daily responsibilities include

• Develop, implement and maintain category sourcing strategies aligned with corporate procurement
• Select and qualify suppliers based on quality, logistics, technology, cost and sustainability criteria (QLTC)
• Lead strategic contract negotiations and manage commercial terms at senior level
• Build and manage long‑term supplier partnerships, including performance reviews and development plans
• Identify supply risks and market developments, and translate these into actionable mitigation strategies
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for value engineering and supply chain optimization
• Represent procurement in multidisciplinary project teams (including NPI and engineering projects)
• Collaborate closely with operations, planning, engineering, quality and finance to ensure seamless alignment
• Provide functional leadership, guidance and expertise to operational buyers within the category
