To support the Advanced Surgical Therapy portfolio for the southwest part of the Netherlands, Medtronic is looking for a full-time, customer-oriented field Therapy Sales Specialist with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to spot business opportunities.

A Day in the Life

This role is suited to someone with strong relationship management skills and at least 5 years of commercial experience in a hospital environment. You will define and execute your own sales strategies and be part of a professional and collegial team.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Main purpose: implement a range of surgical products and services in hospitals, mainly in the operating room and focused on sales growth. Your customers are existing and potential new hospitals in your territory.
  • Manage relationships with existing customers and develop new hospital accounts within your territory.
  • Work independently, plan your work autonomously, and focus on achieving your objectives with support from your sales manager.
  • Clinical knowledge: learn and comprehend complex medical and scientific information, and support surgeons and nurses in the correct use of the surgical portfolio in collaboration with product marketeers.
  • Tender Management: take responsibility for tender cases and work closely with the tender team, product managers, and sales manager.
  • Business Development: identify sales prospects, prepare action plans, follow up on new leads and referrals, and interact with purchasing managers and hospital administrators to set up and negotiate broader sales contracts.
  • Maintain customer knowledge by gathering information about account activities and potential, key decision makers, competitive participation, and market share.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with senior sales experience and a demonstrated track record
  • At least 5 years of commercial experience in a hospital environment
  • High motivation, sales-driven and enthusiastic attitude, comfortable with change and growth, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, persuasive, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Fluency in Dutch and a very good level of English
  • Advanced presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and strong time management skills
  • Service-oriented team player concerned with helping people, business-minded, and with an entrepreneurial spirit
