Financial Controller

Exact has a great opportunity for a finance professional within the Record to Report (RtR) domain who thrives on accuracy, ownership and clear communication.

This opportunity is for a Financial Controller.

This = the job

• You will play a key role in delivering a timely, accurate month end close, strengthening controls and enabling data‑driven decisions. Your responsibilities are:
• Run the monthly close for key OPEX items across multiple EMEA entities.
• Maintain and improve key internal controls within RtR. Safeguard balance sheet and P&L integrity through analytical review, variance analysis and issue resolution.
• Prepare, review and post journals with clear narratives and supporting evidence. Maintain a feedback loop with the accounting team to support internal growth and reduce manual work.
• Present concise, top‑down insights on commercial and operational performance drivers to senior stakeholders.
• Build strong working relationships with senior management, business control, reporting, Malaysia finance and external stakeholders, including auditors and advisors.
• Drive process and control improvements: increase automation, expand the use of analytical tooling, streamline administrative structures and support new system implementations.
• Support statutory compliance by preparing and filing annual financial statements, coordinating local audits and handling IFRS‑to‑local‑GAAP adjustments where relevant.
• Contribute to cross‑departmental projects that improve efficiency or are required for regulatory purposes.
• The Financial Controller reports to the Manager Finance & Control and is part of the Record to Report team.

This = what you bring

Our new colleague has a master’s degree in finance or accounting. A post master title such as RA or RC is a strong preference. You also bring:

• 5+ years of experience in an international setting. Experience (at a Big 4 firm) in audit, consultancy or transaction services is a big plus.
• Knowledge of IFRS is preferred, as well as familiarity with local GAAP filings.
• RtR finance systems knowledge and end to end process understanding. Experience with ERP and reporting tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Drive to improve processes and adopt change in a dynamic environment.
• Great stakeholder management and communication skills. Fluent in English, Dutch is preferred.
