(Senior) Manager – Finance Strategy in Finance Transformation

Within this team, the Finance Strategy team forms a focused group of around 30 colleagues who concentrate on shaping the future of finance functions.

Role

We are seeking a (Senior) Manager to join our Finance Strategy team in The Netherlands. In this role, you will be at the forefront of driving strategic transformations, helping clients to achieve or build efficient financial operations and supporting the development of clients’ CFO function.

What you bring

• Over 8 years of relevant consulting experience in the finance strategy domain.
• A completed university degree, preferably in business administration, business economics, or finance.
• Demonstrated commercial proficiency in originating client opportunities and developing proposals that expand the scope of existing engagements, with a strong focus on business development and building sustainable client relationships.
• Extensive experience delivering end-to-end multi-functional transformation programs, with a deep understanding of operating models, systems, data, processes, and governance, as well as technology-driven change initiatives like ERP, process mining, and automation.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, manage teams effectively to meet deadlines and quality standards, and develop sustainable client relationships through business development efforts.
• Proficiency in both Dutch and English is a strong advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance strategy initiatives by setting the vision and strategic direction, while enhancing and implementing innovative strategies for solutions, including shared services, outsourcing, and global business models.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with clients to lead business development and strengthen the regional network.
• Oversee the delivery of large-scale, complex transformation programs, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Manage and mentor a team of consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

How you will work

Our work focuses on setting the finance vision, conducting comprehensive finance assessments utilizing, for example, benchmarks and finance baseline exercises, and developing robust operating models. Beyond visioning and assessment activities, we actively explore points of view on digital finance, integrating emerging technologies such as AI to transform finance processes and organizations. We help shape what the finance organization of the future should look like, ensuring it is agile, innovative, and technology-enabled to meet evolving business demands.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams dedicated to diverse projects across industries. As a seasoned professional, you understand the latest trends and are able to translate these into strategies within the finance function. You are innovative and creative, proactive in translating market insights into solutions and propositions. Your ability to inspire and motivate is reflected in your interactions with both your team and clients. You support the growth and development of the Finance Strategy team, from junior to senior levels, combining your own experience with Deloitte's methodologies.

Additionally, you will be instrumental in driving commercial activities, ensuring that the Finance Strategy team excels not only in achieving operational objectives but also in advancing the organization’s overall business development goals. Your proven experience in Finance Strategy will be vital as you lead Deloitte teams at the client through the finance transformation journey, all while cultivating a robust network within the region.
